The NHL’s return to the Atlanta Metro is one step closer, as the Forsyth County Commission approved the final agreements for The Gathering at South Forsyth on Wednesday. Numerous NHL insiders have further expressed the increasing likelihood that Vernon Krause’s group will be able to secure an NHL expansion franchise soon, at which point construction will begin on the new arena.

Vernon Krause is a name you can expect to hear much more from in the coming months and years. It has been 13 long years and counting since the Thrashers’ departure, but the future of hockey in Atlanta and the State of Georgia is looking brighter than ever.

In a Channel 2 Action News exclusive, Vernon Krause, the businessman behind the proposal to build a new arena in Forsyth County, said he met with the National Hockey League commissioner.
