We had a VERY full day of kendo this weekend! First, we had our last practice with our friend Aoyama sensei, who is moving back to Japan soon. Thank you, Aoyama sensei, for all your advice, help and inspiration. We have enjoyed learning from you and practicing with you over the years, and we hope to see you again! Next, it was our last day of our summer challenges, which we have been doing every Saturday this summer. Today's challenge involved a LOT of suburi! After practice we had a party with an ice cream truck and suika-wari, or watermelon cutting! We had a great day, full of kendo, friends and fun!

Thank you again to the Rasamijao family for joining us for one last practice when you came all the way from South Africa to enjoy the World Cup! We love making new kendo friends from around the world. And thank you for the cool tenugui!

We had a great practice last night with guests from SKK, GKC, GKA, Nantobukan and as far away as Dallas! Thank you to everyone! We really enjoyed practicing with each of you.

Time for a photo dump from the National Championship! We had two members (Amane and Kayla) attend as members of the junior youth girls team, and Barr sensei attended as a coach for the women's team. It was a fantastic event filled with amazing kendo. Thank you to our members for representing the southeast federation. Now time to train for the next one!

Hot practice today, but a great one! We had guests all the way from South Africa who are here to watch World Cup games in Atlanta! Thank you, Niri and Lisy, for taking time to visit us while in Atlanta. And if any other kenshi are visiting during the World Cup, feel free to reach out and join us for practice! Thank you also to guests from GKA, GKC and Charlotte! We had a full dojo today!
