Stop pitching yourself as a speaker.

Start positioning yourself as a solution.

This is the mindset shift that separates speakers who get booked consistently from speakers who are constantly chasing opportunities.

Event planners don’t wake up thinking
“I need a great speaker.”

They wake up thinking:
→ My audience is burned out and disengaged. I need someone who can reignite them.

→ My team is stuck in a culture problem. I need someone who can shift the room.

→ My attendees need to leave with something actionable. I need someone who delivers results, not just inspiration.
When you understand what they’re actually buying — a solution, not a speaker — your entire pitch changes.

Your bio becomes outcome-focused.
Your pitch email leads with their problem.
Your talk title speaks directly to what the room needs.

Be the answer to a problem they already have. The bookings follow naturally.

💬 What specific problem does YOUR talk solve? Say it in one sentence below.

The comparison trap will kill your speaking career before it starts.

There will always be a speaker with a bigger platform, a more dramatic story, a more polished delivery, a longer client list.
And none of that has anything to do with the work in front of you today.

The only real competition in this industry is between who you are as a speaker right now and who you’re capable of becoming, with full preparation and full commitment.

Did you know your material cold or did you almost?

Did you rehearse until it felt natural or until it felt okay?

Did you research the audience deeply or did you assume you knew enough?

The gap between “almost prepared” and “fully prepared” is where most speakers live. And it’s the same gap that separates the speakers who get rebooked from the ones who don’t.

Beat the version of yourself that almost showed up.

That’s the only competition worth your energy.

💬 What does full preparation look like for you before a talk? What’s the thing most speakers skip that you refuse to?

The speaking industry runs on relationships. Full stop.

You can have the most polished speaker packet in the world. A five-star reel. A perfectly crafted pitch email. And still lose the booking to someone the event organizer knows personally.

Because here’s how most bookings actually happen:
Someone mentions they need a speaker. Someone else says “I know exactly who you should call.”
A name gets passed across a table or a text thread. That name gets the meeting.
Your pitch never even hits an inbox.

This is not a broken system, it’s a human one. And the way you work with it is simple: invest in people.

Not just contacts. People.

Show up for them before you need anything.

Be genuinely curious about what they’re building.

Celebrate their wins publicly.

Be the person who gives more than they take.

The stage will follow. Not immediately. But inevitably.

💬 Who is one person in your network you could invest in this week with zero agenda?

15/05/2026

Someone in that room is going to remember what you said for the rest of their life.

You don’t know who. You won’t always find out. But it’s true for almost every talk you give, if you give it fully.

A 19-year-old who just stepped into her first leadership role.

A woman who has been shrinking herself for years and needed one sentence to give her permission to stop.

A man who drove three hours to this conference because he’s been struggling in silence and didn’t know how to say it.

They’re in the room. Every room. Waiting for the thing that shifts something.

That’s not pressure to be perfect.

It’s an invitation to be PRESENT.

To deliver every talk like it’s the most important one you’ve ever given, because for someone in the audience, it might be the most important one they’ve ever heard.

Don’t sleepwalk through a single engagement.

Every room deserves everything you have.

💬 Has a speaker ever said something that changed the direction of your life? What was it?

📌 Save this for the days before a talk when you need to remember why it matters.

Sixty seconds. That’s your window.

Not to be entertaining. Not to tell a joke. Not to thank everyone for being there or explain who you are.

Sixty seconds to make the audience believe that what comes next is worth every minute of their time.

And most speakers waste it.

“Good morning, it’s so great to be here today.”

“Before I get started, I want to thank the event organizers…”

“So today I’m going to be talking to you about…”

By the time the speaker gets to the actual point, a third of the room has checked their phone and made a quiet decision: this isn’t going to be it.

The speakers who command attention from the first breath open with a question that makes the audience feel seen, a statement that disrupts what they thought they knew, or a story that drops them immediately into something real.

They earn attention before they ask for it.

Your opening isn’t a warm-up. It’s your most important 60 seconds. Treat it that way.

💬 What’s the most powerful opening line you’ve ever heard from a speaker? Drop it below.

Go outside and literally touch grass today! We are all so caught up in the things that won’t matter when our time comes to transition from this earth. Money, houses, cars, awards, clothes, jewelry, promotions, and all of the things that we can’t take with us. What have you done for your inner being today? How are you caring for your soul? Take a moment to breathe and reflect on what would actually matter to you if you knew for a fact that today was your last day on earth.

The measure of a great talk isn’t how the speaker felt coming off stage.

It’s what the audience can see now that they couldn’t see before.

A new possibility they hadn’t considered.
A belief they’d been carrying that no longer fits.
A path forward that suddenly feels clear.
A permission they’d been waiting for someone to give them.

THAT is the standard.

Not “did they laugh at my jokes?”
Not “did they give me a standing ovation?”
Not “did I nail my transitions?”

Did they leave different than they arrived? Did something shift in how they see themselves, their situation, or what’s possible for their lives?

This is the question that separates speakers who get booked once from speakers who get called back.

Audiences forget the words. They remember how you changed what they could see.

Speak to that. Always.

💬 What’s one thing a speaker helped you see that you couldn’t before? How did it change you?

Every speaker you admire started somewhere embarrassing.

A Rotary Club meeting with nine attendees.

A corporate lunch where half the room kept eating.

A talk so nervous they couldn’t remember the second point.

A conference room where one person asked a question that revealed they’d missed the whole message.

Every single one of them.

The speaking career you’re building isn’t behind schedule. You’re exactly where the path requires you to be — learning the craft in the rooms that are small enough to fail in safely.

The speakers who make it aren’t the ones who started with the best delivery or the biggest stage. They’re the ones who showed up to the small rooms anyway. Who got feedback and used it. Who got scared and kept going. Who stayed in the craft long enough for the craft to change them.

The only failure in speaking is the talk you decided not to give because you weren’t ready enough.

You were ready enough. You just needed to go.

💬 What was your worst speaking experience — and what did it teach you?

Let’s normalize the messy beginning.

I left and came back and practice is STILL in session.

LISTEN, runs a VERY strict program and she is going to make sure big sis is READY for this audition. 😭🤣 This is part 3 (the other two are on my wall). It got so serious she changed clothes. And, Big Sis had the nerve to ask her to FaceTime and help a few of her friends 🤷🏽‍♀️💜

Fresh out of step practice, she came home critiquing, counting beats, fixing timing, and calling corrections like the whole choreographer that she is.

Then I heard: “Okay, it’s NOW 8:34. You need to wrap this up.” — from 💀😂

She does NOT play. She has literally danced my carpets off the floor as she practices like this daily without anyone prompting her to do so.

No shortcuts. No lazy counts. No half effort.

Just excellence, rhythm, discipline, and sisterhood all happening in my living room tonight. ❤️
