Huge congrats to our 8th Grade All-Stars!
Finishing the season with a dominant 15–1 win in game 1 and then grinding out a 2–1 win in game 2 at the County All-Star Games — what a way to cap it off!
It’s always a blast coaching this game. Getting to work with and interact with the same players you’ve been battling against all season long is a unique and rewarding experience.
Big shoutout to the girls from Temple, Bowdon, and Bremen Middle Schools — y’all played great tonight and made it a fun and competitive game!
Just a quick rant about the game tonight.
These girls are the best of the best from our league, and this is supposed to be their night to shine. But even now, some parents are still trying to sideline coach. It blows my mind how hard it is for these girls to just go out there, play freely, and actually enjoy the game without being critiqued for every little thing they do.
Let’s be real — if they strike out or make an error… who cares? It’s part of the game. Tonight is about celebrating their talent and hard work, not nitpicking every play.
Honestly, this is one of the hardest games for me to coach because I am their biggest critic during the season. But tonight? I remind myself — and I hope others do too — that this game is about them, not us coaches and definitely not the parents in the stands. Let them have their moment. They’ve earned it.
