I didn’t know her. I NEVER asked her to help… but she showed up for us anyway. 🥹❤️

Meet J. 💐

When I tell y’all this lady touched my heart…

J came into town with one of our steppers, and before she had even officially met me, she jumped RIGHT into our fundraiser like she had been part of DSSD forever. 😭

No DSSD gear. No instructions. Nobody asked her to do it.

She was going to doors, approaching people at Dollar Tree, QuikTrip, walking up to the pumps wherever there was somebody who might support these Kool Kids, J was THERE! 😂❤️

And she wasn’t just standing around helping a little bit either. She was bringing those donations IN! 💰🙌🏾

Then she came back and did it AGAIN at our second fundraiser.

Outside. On the side of the road. In the HEAT. 🥵 And somehow she was having a good time doing it. 😂

That meant something to me.

Because sometimes God will send support through people you weren’t expecting. People you didn’t ask. People who don’t owe you anything. They just see what you’re trying to build and decide, “I’m going to help.” 🙏🏾

So I wanted to give J her flowers while she can actually smell them. 💐❤️

But the flowers weren’t the only thing I gave her… 😂

She had been admiring my Lego Crocs, and baby, I LOVE those shoes. 😂 But something in my spirit told me, take them off.

So I took my FAVORITE shoes right off my feet and gave them to her. 👟😭❤️

It wasn’t about the shoes.

It was my way of saying, I SEE YOU. I APPRECIATE YOU. AND WHAT YOU DID FOR US DID NOT GO UNNOTICED.

J, thank you for showing up for DSSD and our Kool Kids when nobody even asked you to. 💐

People like you remind me that we’re not building this new studio alone. ❤️💙💛💚
