Doing great work is a baseline. Making sure it’s credited to you is the strategy.

If you’re a high-achieving woman in corporate, you know how easily your individual brilliance gets swallowed up by team effort. You do the heavy lifting, but when the praise goes out, it’s generalized to the whole room.

That isn't collaboration; it’s invisible labor.

This is exactly why I built my Strategic Positioning Model. It’s the framework I use inside my 12-week Internal Visibility Advisory to help overlooked corporate leaders stop over-functioning and start moving from indispensable to visible.

We don't teach you how to do more work. We teach you how to ensure your current excellence is seen, valued, and advanced by leadership.

A client recently told me she was advised that she needs to perform at the level she's aspiring to. And honestly? She’s not wrong.

The real question is: How do you actually accomplish that without blurring the lines and burning yourself out?

Most high-achieving women hear the advice to 'operate at the next level' and immediately translate it into: I need to do my current job perfectly, plus take on 50% of the next role’s workload and everything else in between.

So, you become the ultimate fixer. The reliable one. The one who says yes to every extra project, every tight deadline, and every low-value administrative task because you think it proves you can handle more.

But doing more work isn't next-level performance. That's just over-functioning.

When you spend all your time keeping your head down and grinding in the trenches, you become too indispensable right where you are for leadership to ever move you to the strategy room.

Performing at the next level doesn't mean volume; it means positioning. It’ means shifting your focus from day-to-day ex*****on to strategic impact, and changing how you communicate your value.

It is entirely possible to achieve excellence without exhaustion. But to get there, you have to stop performing for approval and start positioning for advancement.

Have you ever fallen into the trap of trying to prove you're ready for a promotion by simply taking on more grunt work?

06/01/2026

If you're the go-to person at work but can't remember the last time you were promoted, this is why:

Excellence alone does not guarantee advancement.

The biggest lie we’re told as corporate women is that hard work speaks for itself. It doesn't. You have to be the one to give it a voice.

It’s time to move from:
⭐ Indispensable → Visible.
⭐ Over-functioning → Strategic.
⭐ Hidden → Heard.

Excellence without visibility is just exhaustion. Stop performing for approval and start positioning for your seat at the table.

Save this for when you need a reminder to stop shrinking. 📌

The Invisible High Performer trap isn’t about a lack of talent; it’s about a surplus of outdated beliefs.

For years, I operated on the assumption that if I just kept my head down, delivered excellence, and anticipated everyone’s needs, the advancement would follow.

Spoiler alert: It didn't.

I learned the hard way that:

✴ Performance is not a career strategy. It is the baseline.

✴ Helpfulness is not a currency. It’s often just an invitation for more administrative labor.

✴ Silence is expensive. If you aren't narrating your own impact, you are relying on others to advocate for you, and they rarely do it as well as you can.

You’ve been trained to master performance, but you’re stuck because you haven't mastered positioning. It’s time to stop shrinking in rooms you already belong in and start articulating the value you bring.

Which of these myths is currently holding you back the most? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

“Why am I doing more, but being seen less?”

That question doesn’t come up right away.

At first, it feels like progress.

More responsibility.
More trust.
More people relying on you.

But eventually, something feels off.

You’re doing more than ever, but not being seen the way you expected.

That’s not a motivation problem.

It’s a positioning problem.

And once you see it, everything starts to make more sense.

I’ll be breaking this down in a live workshop soon.

I’ve seen many women who are so good at their jobs that their managers literally cannot 'afford' to promote them.

They’ve become the 'linchpin.' They catch every ball, fix every error, and manage every fire.

If this is you, you aren't building a path to leadership. You’re building a cage of invisible labor.

The shift from indispensable to visible requires you to stop over performing for approval and start positioning for advancement.

I’m hosting a free workshop, "Hidden in Plain Sight," to show you how to break this cycle.

There are only 25 spots on the wait-list for this initial cohort.

We were taught that "the work speaks for itself."
In reality, the work doesn't have a voice. You do.

When you stay silent about your impact, you aren't being humble. You are leaving your career trajectory in the hands of people who are too busy to notice your nuance.

If you are a mid-level corporate woman who is trusted but overlooked, it’s time to stop shrinking.

Join the wait-list for my upcoming workshop. We’re going to audit the 7 Strategic Visibility Gaps that are keeping you stationary while others move forward.
