A moment for the food in Italy🤌
(Can you guess what food is on the last slide?? I fully thought it was a hard boiled egg🤣)
But thankful for creating a lifestyle that includes✨food freedom✨
Pizza, pasta, gelato, sorbet, cannolis, pastries… you better believe I was trying ALL the things!
Of course my day-to-day diet at home looks a little more balanced because that’s what helps me feel my best. But vacation? 👀 I’m going to indulge, try the foods I may never get the chance to try again, and fully experience the culture, because food is SO much more than just fuel!!
Food freedom doesn’t mean throwing nutrition completely out the window either. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
While we were in Italy, I still found little ways to give my body what it needed so I could feel good and have energy for everything we wanted to do:
🍓 Fresh fruit when I could find it
🍳 Eggs/protein with breakfast
🥗 Produce with meals
💧 Water whenever I could get my hands on it
🌾 Fiber where it fit
Not because I needed to “make up for” the pizza or earn the gelato, but because I knew those things would help my body feel good enough to KEEP enjoying the pizza, gelato, sightseeing, walking, swimming, and everything else that came with our trip.
You don’t need to choose between enjoying vacation and taking care of yourself.
You can eat the pasta AND the produce. Have the gelato AND stay hydrated. Indulge without guilt AND still do things that make your body feel good!
That’s the beauty of food freedom🫶
