Wednesday night was a full room for an OxeFit demo.

Darren Krein, former NFL player, joined the OxeFit team to walk through how the machine works and how it’s used in training.

It’s built around controlled resistance and real feedback — a different approach than traditional lifting.

Quick one on who's coming Wednesday.
Darren Krein played defensive end at Miami in the early 90s — same defensive line as Dwayne Johnson and Ray Lewis, national championship squad. Got drafted by the Chargers in '94. Knee injury ended his playing career, so he went into coaching and spent the next 20 years in the NFL. Seattle, Miami, Indianapolis. NFL Strength Coach of the Year in 2013 and again in 2014.
He's now with OxeFit, and he'll be at Ajax this Wednesday to walk through the technology and run a live demo.
The reason I'm excited about it: the OxeFit measures power — force times speed — not just strength. And power is actually what declines fastest as we age. Faster than strength, and more predictive of how well you function later in life. Most people have never had it measured. We're going to show what that looks like in real time.

Something a bit different happening at Ajax this Wednesday.

We're hosting a small evening — about 25 people — called Stronger for Longer. The short version: we'll have Darren Krein here from OxeFit. He spent 20 years as an NFL strength coach, won the award back to back in 2013 and 2014, and played college ball at Miami with Dwayne Johnson and Ray Lewis. Now he works with the technology we have on the floor here.

He's going to run a live demo, show what the machine actually measures, and talk about why power — not just strength — is the thing worth paying attention to as you get older.

We've also got Denise Searle from The Fix and Dr. Ellen Barlow joining us on the recovery and rehab side of things.

Wednesday, March 18 | 4–8 PM | Ajax Fitness, Aspen

It's invite-only and almost full. If you want in, DM me or email [email protected].

Something a little different in today’s training session.

Tina, one of our trainers at Ajax, is a USA Boxing–certified coach and offers boxing-focused sessions for members interested in learning.

Boxing is a powerful workout for coordination, endurance, balance, and quick reaction time — and it’s also just a great way to change up a traditional gym routine.

There’s something special about training with a partner.

You hold each other accountable, keep the energy up, and the workout flows naturally as you rotate through sets. One works while the other resets.

It makes the session more efficient — and a lot more enjoyable.

That’s the kind of environment we love seeing in here.

If you’ve noticed this machine on the floor and wondered what it is — this is the Oxefit system.

Unlike free weights, which rely on gravity and fixed plates, Oxefit uses digitally controlled resistance. The load adjusts instantly, can match your strength through the entire range of motion, and measures exactly how much force you’re producing.

That means:

• Resistance that adapts to you, not the other way around
• More consistent tension through the full movement
• Built-in feedback on strength, balance, and output
• The ability to track real progress over time

Free weights will always have their place. This is simply another tool — one that allows for precision, control, and measurable data.

If you’re curious about how it works, we’re happy to walk you through it.

When Dennis started working closely with David in early January, the goal wasn’t anything extreme. It was simple — build strength, stay consistent, and follow a plan.

In just over a month, he’s gained 4.6 pounds of muscle and lowered his body fat by 3.5%.

That kind of change doesn’t happen from guessing. It happens from showing up, listening, adjusting, and having someone pay close attention to the details.

We see this often here — when someone commits and has the right guidance, the body responds.

Really proud of the work behind these numbers!

Back in November, Chris committed to training with Roman — just a plan, consistency, and showing up week after week.

In under three months, he’s down 10.4 pounds, gained 1.6 pounds of muscle, and dropped his body fat from 20.3% to 14%!!!

That’s what steady work and the right guidance can do.

We’re proud of you, Chris.

Long time member Alan Greenwald shares what it’s been like committing to personal training here — the work, the consistency, and how good it feels afterward. About 16–17 pounds down, enjoying the progress and even the compliments that come with it!

We love seeing our members feel good in their bodies and proud of the work they’re putting in. Keep it up Alan!!! 💪

David, owner of Ajax Fitness, walking his client Seth through a plyometric drill — first demonstrating the movement, then coaching it in real time.

This kind of work is often layered into strength training to support balance, coordination, tendon health, and how efficiently the body moves. It shows up in skiing, stability, and everyday movement — especially over time.

Sessions change depending on the focus that day, but the approach stays the same: attentive, intentional, and personal

Every cue matters — because every body is different.

Personal training here means someone is really watching: how you move, how you balance, where you compensate, and what your body actually needs in that moment.

The details aren’t extra. They’re the whole point.
