High school football is back in Maryland! The season kicked off in Baltimore with a first of its kind event that's set to cover Labor Day weekend.

The inaugural Grit and Greatness Invitational featured five high school football games over two days at Under Armour Stadium in Baltimore.

A surreal moment at Camden Yards. Adley Rutschman gets a standing ovation from the home crowd while they play his old walk-up song. Then he proceeds to homer in his first at-bat in Baltimore. Even fans stood up and cheered as he rounded the bases.

Adley Rutschman is back in Baltimore for the first time as a visitor. The Red Sox catcher said he's had to break some habits such as going into the Orioles' clubhouse and making sure to run back to the correct dugout after an out.

The are set to have three new starters on the offensive line, all in the interior. Executive VP and General Manager Eric DeCosta credited O-line coach Dwayne Ledford with the unit's growth.

Tackles Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten are back. At guard they brought back veteran John Simpson (who played on the Ravens in 2023) and drafted Vega Ioane in the first round of April's draft.

The biggest question mark is at center after Pro-Bowler Tyler Linderbaum left in free agency. Danny Pinter began training camp taking first-team reps before a season-ending injury. Now Jovaughn Gywn has been taking first-team reps, although veteran center Ethan Pocic is still in the mix for the starting job.

Randallstown is a program that's been used to making the playoffs over the last couple of seasons. Even with a young team and a new head coach, they're not planning on changing that standard.

The Randallstown Rams are entering the 2026 season with a new head coach, a younger roster, and a chip on their shoulder after being shut out at home in the first round of the playoffs last year.

The Baltimore Ravens trimmed their roster from 90 players to 53 over the weekend, making tough cuts while also adding some unlikely names to their initial roster.

Ravens have 15 out of 17 practice spots filled. They did not claim anyone off waivers and Corey Bullock (by CAR) was the only player who was claimed after the team's wave of roster cuts.
The only player here that didn't spend camp with the Ravens is kicker Jake Moody.
