The 2026 Ashtabula County Tennis Ladder season is officially in the books — and what a year!

🏆 #1 most active tennis network in the world
🎾 1,214 matches — a new ACTL single-season record
⭐ 12,118 total matches since 2012
👥 100+ players competed this summer
🎓 50+ ACTL players have gone on to play college tennis

That last number might be the one we’re most proud of. From NCAA tennis to college club programs, it’s been incredible watching so many players grow up through the ladder and continue playing the game at the next level.

And we know there will be many more in the years ahead!

If we missed someone on our college-player list, please let us know so we can add them.

🎾 2026 ACTL Top 20 Doubles Players 🎾

Congratulations to everyone who finished in the Top 20 Doubles Rankings for the 2026 Ashtabula County Tennis Ladder!

Unlike our singles ladder, doubles rankings are determined using the Elo Rating System—the same type of rating system used in chess and by many competitive sports around the world.

How does it work?

📈 Every player begins with a rating.
🤝 After each doubles match, ratings are updated based on the result.
🏆 Defeating higher-rated opponents earns you more points.
📊 Beating players you’re expected to beat earns fewer points, while losses to lower-rated opponents result in a larger rating drop.

Because every match matters, the Elo system rewards consistent performance against strong competition throughout the season.

🌟 Congratulations to our Top 5 Doubles Players!

🥇 #1 LJ Stark — 2,176 points (30-16)
LJ put together an outstanding season, consistently playing at a high level against the ladder’s toughest doubles competition to finish as the 2026 ACTL Doubles Champion.

🥈 #2 Jacob Timonere — 2,124 points (34-25)
Jacob’s aggressive play and willingness to take on every challenge earned him another exceptional finish near the top of the standings.

🥉 #3 Randy Vencill — 2,085 points (32-23)
One of the ladder’s most experienced competitors, Randy once again proved to be one of the area’s premier doubles players.

🏅 #4 Audrey Austin — 2,059 points (31-19)
Already the 2026 Singles Champion, Audrey also demonstrated her all-around game by finishing fourth in doubles against a talented field.

⭐ #5 Christian Barbian — 2,025 points (31-25)
Christian’s consistency and competitive spirit helped him earn his first Top 5 doubles finish in an extremely deep field.

🎾 2026 ACTL Top 20 Singles Ladder Players 🎾

Congratulations to everyone who finished in the Top 20 Singles Ladder for the 2026 Ashtabula County Tennis Ladder!

Unlike a traditional point system, ACTL Singles uses the Leapfrog Challenge Ladder.

How does it work?

⬆️ Challenge anyone ranked above you.
🏆 Win the match, and you leapfrog into your opponent’s position.
📈 Everyone between you and that player moves down one spot.
💪 Lose the match, and the rankings stay exactly the same.

This system encourages players to challenge themselves throughout the summer and creates exciting movement in the standings right up until the final day.

🌟 Congratulations to our Top 5 Singles Players!

🥇 #1 Audrey Austin (14-2)
An incredible season! Audrey climbed to the top of the ladder with consistent play and finished as the 2026 ACTL Singles Champion.

🥈 #2 Jacob Timonere (14-7)
One of the ladder’s toughest competitors, Jacob battled near the top all summer and finished just one spot from the championship.

🥉 #3 LJ Stark (25-8)
No one played more high-level challenge matches among the leaders. LJ’s determination and willingness to compete kept him in the title race all season.

🏅 #4 Randy Vencill (17-13)
A longtime ACTL standout, Randy once again proved why he’s one of the ladder’s most respected competitors with another Top 5 finish.

⭐ #5 Natalie Austin (10-8)
Natalie earned a well-deserved Top 5 finish by taking on strong competition throughout the summer and showing tremendous improvement.

Congratulations to every player who stepped on the court this summer. Whether you finished in the Top 20 or played your very first ladder match, you helped make this our biggest and best season ever!

🎾 ACTL IS MAKING HISTORY! 🎾

The Ashtabula County Tennis Ladder is officially the #1 most active tennis network in the world! 🌎🏆

And what a season it has been:

🥇 2026 — 1,214 matches played
🥈 2024 — 1,105 matches
🥉 2023 — 1,103 matches
4️⃣ 2025 — 1,080 matches
5️⃣ 2015 — 1,018 matches

Since the ladder began in 2012, our players have now completed an incredible 12,118 matches!

What makes this even more special is seeing Ashtabula ranked alongside tennis communities from New York City, California, Canada, Portugal and Brazil. We may come from a smaller community, but the enthusiasm, participation and love for tennis here are second to none.

None of this would be possible without our players, families, coaches, volunteers and the generous local businesses and organizations that supported us throughout the season.

🎾 Thank you, everyone, for an incredible summer of tennis!

In just eight weeks, we played an unbelievable 1,214 matches and finished as the #1 tennis network in the world! None of it would have been possible without our amazing players, families, volunteers and supporters.

A huge thank-you to Panda Buffet for providing such a great meal for our final ladder night, and to Popp-A-Razzi™️ and Pizza Roto for sponsoring the evening and helping us end the season in style!

We also appreciate Babolat USA 🇺🇸 and for the sets of string awarded to several of our players. 🎾
