Had a new crew past 2 days. Great trips despite the weather being a bit “weathery”….today was a long ride home on a not so nice lake.

The fishing for us has been slightly slower the last couple days. But still fantastic results. Fish seem super deep and are full of shad.

Downriggers outperformed everything today.

Done for the rest of the weekend. Enjoy the rest of Labor Day weekend.

Well we finally did it. I generally participate in the marina tournament but rarely see any big fish those days. Today was the exception…

Billy and his son Will joined me today and we went out dodging lightning bolts and rain drops. We setup in a new area than we’ve been fishing and deployed the usual lures I’ve been running for over a month…lol

Things were steady till one of the wire flatlines fired and Billy brought me heavy heavy 27.5” to the net. We got situated and the other rod bent over on the other side and Will brought us the biggest walleye I’ve seen in years on my boat. A 30+” walleye weighing over 10lbs. An absolute unit of a fish. I should have taken 100 pictures of it.

Our last fish of the day filling our limits was another 24”+ fish anchoring us with over 82” of length on our 3 biggest fish. I needed every inch cause my buddy Matt Fuchs was right there with me.

Lots of fun and laughed today. I was pretty animated and hyped up after my dad netted the big one. Really well run event…food and festivities were great afterward.

I don’t usually do these but I have a fella on Friday whose been coming with me forever. His trip fell apart due to some medical reasons with the rest of his crew but he still wants to go. I am looking to add some people to fill in with him..

Last few trips have been amazing in the promised land….been a few years since we’ve had to venture this far north. The only downside is a long run and a bigger fuel bill.
