Winding down again for the season here in Ashtabula. Iām mentally thereā¦the weather and some crazy situations past few weeks have just kinda made me ready go be outa here sooner rather than later.
Today we had my regulars Kenny, Tim, Lenny and Ed out for their 4th trip of the season with me. Love fishing with these guys and have so for many years now.
We got 28 and a big steelhead before we were greeted with a loud thud on the bow hitting a near 30ft piece of wood while trollingā¦itās rumored Paul Bunyan and Babe the old blue ox lost floating it in 70fow. Yikes!! I pulled the plug and we came in after that to be sure the boat was ok.
Luckily everything seems to be operational minus a few lines that were lostā¦seems I may have dodged a bullet, by some fast action, putting the boat in neutral and letting the big hunk of lumber slowly drift under usā¦.
Will check her over good when we haul her out in couple weeks. Maybe just need a little prop tune but everything seemed to run fine.
