This smile right here…. This is why I do what I do. This little hunter made a good shot on this buck with his 44 mag. It ended up being a few inches back and it traveled a good bit. We found it on the neighbors property. We then helped them obtain permission and load him into the truck. I was informed by that little smiling face that “ Dad said I get to hang it on the wall”. Well Dad …. Time to pay up! 😆

This one is a HAMMER!
I was fortunate enough to be asked to help Adam look for his trophy and what a trophy he was!!! Found him near a pond in high grass in someone’s back yard.
People ask me all the time If Id rather hunt or track. My answer Is I love to hunt but I only get one buck tag a year and honesty only get to lay hands on a big’n maybe every 3-4 yrs. With tracking I get to do It 20+ times In a season and I get to live the excitement through the eyes of the hunter. To say Adam was excited is an understatement !!!

Sorry we haven’t posted much this week. Been super busy with tracks. Miss Eva and I had the opportunity to meet these fellas from WV and GA and be apart of their hunting stories. This buck was the hunters biggest deer to date. Congrats!!

Bitter sweet track. I tracked this for a neighbor this week. He told me the story and everything pointed to a gut shot. He said he shot the deer around 6:00 pm and it ran for about 30 yrds and then just slowly walked away across the open field and towards the woods. I suggested we wait to go in until the following morning. Miss Eva worked the plowed field for over 375 yrds and took us into the woods. We went another 130 yards where we found him dead. Coyotes had got to him ever so slightly. The bitter part was that this deer was my target buck this year! Needless to say I charged him triple for the track 😂. Just joking!! I at least got to lay hands on him after 2 years of hunting him.

We found another!!! Had to drag Eva and the drone 1/2 mile into Mohican state forest to a clearing we could fly out of. Eva did great and extended the track from last blood roughly 100 yrds. She just wasn’t super interested in the track. I felt like she was singling to me he wasn’t dead. We went to the clearing and with Eva giving us a good direction and a hollow to search we finally found him. Bad pics but you can see the dark spot that is the hit sight. The second pic you can see the buck licking his wound. The hunter was going to check the the buck today. 🤞🏼

This was a tough one. Got the call Tuesday night from the hunter stating that he thought he liver shot the buck. We discussed waiting 12 hours before searching. He went in that morning found 3 bloody beds within 100 yrds of where he shot it but no deer. He said we would need the drone because we were on the edge of the suburbs and didn’t want to bring a dog and have to ask permission from every property owner and walk all over there land. After work I flew… and flew …. and flew. Ran out of batteries after a couple of hours and didn’t have my generator. Came back this morning and flew more. The leaves just killed us. We did some old school blood trailing and found the direction he left his bed and that gave us a direction to concentrate on. After that it took me about 10 mins to locate him. All and all we had 7 hrs in this deer.
I had to go home and make up to Miss Eva. She is not happy with me for not taking her. 😆

Got the call last night of a possible shoulder hit. We waited till early this morning to start the search. The deer headed for a huge corn field the last the hunters saw. We threw the drone up to see if we could find anything real quick and BOOM there he was. Just on the edge of the field in a little finger of trees. As you can see it’s not a fatal shot but we were able to give the hunters piece of mind. Eva (my partner who lets be honest does all the work) was not happy she didnt get to track
