Taikai 2021 November Reboot is HERE!
I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the Aikido of Ashland Dojo. We’ll meet outside the dojo starting Saturday, the 13th at 9am but will wait for the class in the dojo to end until 930. Sunday the 14th, arrive at 930am and doors open at 10am. This is a MANDATORY MASK event, and I will be providing N95 masks at the door for all attendees. For those who wish, you may ask for a new mask after lunch each day to start fresh.
Check in at the desk as you enter, pay your fees if you haven’t, and receive you morning session N95 mask as you enter. Remember to wear your gi pants and put you gi tops on when you arrive. There will be no use of the dressing rooms for changing before, during or after practice to observe Covid 19 safety protocols. There will be two handwash stations available so wash your hands regularly throughout the day. The bathroom is available to all during the practice, but there is only the one.
Weapons such as Hanbo, Escrima Sticks, and Bokken can remain in your vehicles until the 15-minute break prior to their use. Kusari Fundo ropes should remain looped around your belt throughout the practice.
Iced water will be provided throughout the practice and remember to bring your lunch and leave it in your car until the lunch break each day.
We will be taking a class picture at each day’s conclusion before clean-up. Ukinju-Ryu patches should be worn by all members of our style and are available at sign in for $10.00.
Let’s take advantage of the fewer numbers this year, and renew our family relationships and our commitment to Sensei White’s encouragement to “become more human” through our inspired practice.
Arigato gozaimasu,
Spellman Sensei
