What a day for Brittney Elizabeth Schmitz and Cody White. They started the day with us in the morning ending with Brittney landing a big king, and then they headed off on an island tour, where Cody took a knee and sealed the deal. Such a fun day and a great couple. I have no doubt they'll have a great marriage.
Huge congratulations, and we are looking forward to seeing them in July for big Lake Trout!!

After a tremendous amount of public pressure, the Brule State Fish Hatchery will officially stay open!

This would not have happened without all of you. Your voices were loud, clear, and impossible to ignore. From emails and phone calls to conversations in the community, people across the south shore of Lake Superior stood up and made it known just how important this facility is to fishing enthusiast, to our outdoor heritage, and to our economy.

Because of that effort, the Brule State Fish Hatchery will remain open as it enters its 100th year of operation. Here’s to 100 more! Thank you to everyone who spoke up, shared your stories, and helped fight for the future of the hatchery. This victory belongs to you.

Kindergarten Career Day

Two years ago we did career day for Isla, and now it was Tuckers class. Such a cool experience being able to chat it up with the kiddos on fishing. The whole crew got their own new fishing pole to catch fish with. I still hear from Isla’s classmates parents how they still fish with theirs. Wednesday I’m going back in to show them how to cast!!
