To promote functionality and consistence and since we love yoga and our yoga community a lot we want to make the yoga experience as enjoyable, easygoing and carefree as possible. Arrive on time. Showing up at the studio on time is crucial for your personal practice and also for the teacher and your yoga peers. Studio opens 15 minutes before the start of the class and door locks when class begins.

Late admittance is not allowed once doors are locked so please don’t knock on the door. Leave your cellphone in your car. If you need to bring your phone in, please turn it off. Do not leave it on vibrate. This is so you can fully disconnect and others won’t be disturbed. If, for some reason, being fully disconnected is going to make you anxious (say, you have children who need to be able to reach you), please talk to the teacher before class. You might be able to leave it next to you on silent. Bring water and your own mat. We have a handful of mats to borrow and we ask that you clean it with a mat cleaning solution before rolling it and putting it back in the shelf. Wear clothing appropriate for the class. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. Dressing in a way that won’t distract anyone or make them uncomfortable is a kindness to your fellow students. Men must wear shirts, Shirtless is not allowed. Scents and Cleanliness. Take it easy on perfumes, colognes and other scents before coming to class and be mindful of personal hygiene. Some people are allergic or sensitive to certain smells. Applying deodorant, if you know you might have a strong scent is a smart habit before coming to class. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the mat

Yoga Teacher Opportunity at Ashland Yoga Center

After many years of teaching her beloved Saturday morning class, Vanessa Scott will be stepping away from the schedule at the end of June. Vanessa has been a cherished part of our community, and her Align & Flow class has touched the lives of countless students over the years.

I am currently looking for a yoga teacher who is personally interested in teaching at Ashland Yoga Center and continuing this Saturday morning offering.

The opening is:

🧘 Saturdays at 9:00 AM
🧘 75-minute class
🧘 Beginning the first Saturday after July 4th
🧘 A class that welcomes a wide range of students

While the immediate need is for this weekly class, I would love to connect with a teacher interested in becoming a larger part of our studio community and potentially teaching additional classes in the future.

Please note: I am not seeking recommendations or nominations in the comments, as I am not able to respond there. If you are a yoga teacher interested in this opportunity, please email me directly with your teaching experience, training, and a little about yourself.

📧 [email protected]

Thank you, and please feel free to share this post with teachers who may be interested.

A quick update on my 30 Days of Breath course.
The launch date has been moved to July 1st. Over the past few weeks, I've been navigating some health challenges, and we also recently said goodbye to our beloved cat after a very aggressive cancer diagnosis.
I want this course to be everything I envisioned—a meaningful, supportive experience—and I need a little more time to create it with the care and attention it deserves.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. I can't wait to share it with you on July 1st. ❤️
Registration is now open. The course is donation-based, and contributions of any amount are welcome. If you'd like to join us for 30 days of breathing, reflection, and connection, I'd love to have you there.

Experience daily breathing practices to regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, and cultivate awareness for a calmer, more grounded life.

As many of you know, Ashland Yoga Center has been blessed with incredible teachers throughout the years, and it all began with one very special person—Vanessa Scott.

Vanessa was the original founder of Ashland Yoga Center and has been a guiding presence in our community for many years. Through her wisdom, compassion, dedication, and love of yoga, she helped create the foundation that so many of us have benefited from and continue to enjoy today.

At the end of June, Vanessa will be teaching her final class at Ashland Yoga Center. Her last class will be on the last Saturday of the month, and while we are excited for her next chapter, it is hard to imagine the studio without her.

We invite you to join us over the next few Saturdays to practice with Vanessa, celebrate her contributions, and express our gratitude for all she has given to this community. Whether you’ve been her student for years or have never had the chance to take her class, this is a beautiful opportunity to experience her teaching and share in this special farewell.

Vanessa, thank you for your vision, your heart, your years of service, and the countless lives you’ve touched along the way. You have left an indelible mark on Ashland Yoga Center, and you will be deeply missed.

Please join us in wishing Vanessa all the best and, if you can, come practice with her before her final class at the end of June.

Tonight, Saturday, May 23 at 7 pm:
Immerse yourself in an evening devoted to release, rejuvenation and deep relaxation. Using breathwork and kundalini yoga we will first release blocks keeping us from our own vital energy, our natural flow of life that guides us to act with integrity, innocence and kindness. Then, we’ll deeply relax while listening to the soothing mantra of evening Kirtan Sohila, followed by a restorative and healing sound bath with the Chiron Gong. All levels welcome.

I’ve been navigating a mysterious illness since August — one that brought a lot of fatigue, brain fog, and uncertainty. It’s asked me to be still in ways I never expected.
But through it all, breath has been one of the few things that kept me going.
That’s where 30 Days of Breath was born. A donation-based breathwork course created from lived experience — not a textbook.
Pay what you can, or nothing at all. Everyone is welcome.
Launches June 1. Register today!

Experience daily breathing practices to regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, and cultivate awareness for a calmer, more grounded life.
