Kalista Dunn loses to Isabella Lopez 6-0, 6-0, whom is acknowledged as one of the best players in the state. She competed hard and had some nice points. We will find out her draw this weekend for the State tournament which will take place in Ashland for the first two rounds!
While we still have the state tournament to look forward to, we would like to take the time to acknowledge the final matches of our seniors. We are going to miss each and everyone of you more than you know. This is a big group we are losing. Most have been with me since 8th grade. You all have the brightest of futures and are always a Black Bear.
To our parents, THANK YOU for allowing us the opportunity to coach your children. And thank you for your contributions.
I’d like to also thank the help of our assistant coach Travis N Erica Moore. You have made a huge contribution to our program and your work doesn’t go unnoticed. You are a blessing to our team and your knowledge of the game has helped our program take a step forward.
Randi Brount has been the absolute best bus driver this season and has made a great friend of our team. We thank her for our fun trips with us and look forward to more rides together.
We have had the help of Calan Neely for most of this season. He has sacrificed his time for his love of tennis and has helped a lot of our newer players to learn the game.
Cody Clayborn has also helped us for a part of the season and helped contribute lessons to net work and volleys to some of our players.
We are a blessed program, and are losing a lot of seniors this year while returning some key players for next season.
Who wants to be next in our program to go work to state and compete in our region while playing a sport you can play the rest of your life?
We will be working some this offseason but recruiting will be heavy this offseason! So if you know anyone grades 7-12 send them our way next year! We even train players under 7th grade.
We are thankful for all that contribute and put their sweat and tears into this program.
The hardest part as a coach is saying goodbye to your players.
State draws will be announced as soon as possible!
Go Bears!
