Tennis Lessons for Wednesday, June 17th‼️🎾🐻

We will be hosting a free tennis lesson at the Roger Raleigh Tennis Courts located in Benham, KY for 3rd-12th grade. The lesson will be from 11AM-1:00 PM for those who may want to attend.

Court construction for resurfacing is underway at HCHS tennis facilities and our courts are not of use at this time.

We look forward to seeing those that are able to come!

We are building the future of HCHS tennis and it starts now!

Go Bears!

Due to tonight and tomorrows chances of rain throughout the day, it is in our best interest to postpone our tennis lessons.

We will check weather and see if we can get another date before KHSAA dead period, if not we will meet after‼️

I am going to be hosting tennis lessons for FREE next Wednesday at our HCHS tennis courts from 10AM-12PM. If weather delays we will push back. Must have physical from recent year. This will be for 3rd-12th grade.

If you or anyone you know is interested in tennis, have them come out. We are going to be doing this during the summer.

I see a ton of pickleball players in Harlan playing. If you like pickleball, you need to give tennis a try. If it wasn’t for tennis there wouldn’t be pickleball. 😎

Please share this post and let’s draw some interest!!

We are aiming to build our next competitive class of Harlan County Tennis and it starts in the offseason!! ‼️‼️‼️‼️🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾

Kalista Dunn is defeated by a very solid player from Hazard by score of 4-6, 6-0, 10-3

What a fantastic career by her and how proudly she represented Harlan County! Record setter and program changing wins were set by her and her teammates. Kalista is the first ever player from Harlan County High School to make state last season and to return to the state tournament while advancing to the second round this season. To end the season as one of the best singles players in the state of Kentucky is something to be so proud of!

We are so proud of her, and the players to come after her will always look on her as an example. She is going to be greatly missed on our team but is always a Black Bear!!

Way to go Kalista!!!

Let’s go!

Eating a little pasta before match day tomorrow at the State Tournament! We’re excited for Kalista and for her to represent our Bears tomorrow!

Kalista Dunn loses to Isabella Lopez 6-0, 6-0, whom is acknowledged as one of the best players in the state. She competed hard and had some nice points. We will find out her draw this weekend for the State tournament which will take place in Ashland for the first two rounds!

While we still have the state tournament to look forward to, we would like to take the time to acknowledge the final matches of our seniors. We are going to miss each and everyone of you more than you know. This is a big group we are losing. Most have been with me since 8th grade. You all have the brightest of futures and are always a Black Bear.

To our parents, THANK YOU for allowing us the opportunity to coach your children. And thank you for your contributions.

I’d like to also thank the help of our assistant coach Travis N Erica Moore. You have made a huge contribution to our program and your work doesn’t go unnoticed. You are a blessing to our team and your knowledge of the game has helped our program take a step forward.

Randi Brount has been the absolute best bus driver this season and has made a great friend of our team. We thank her for our fun trips with us and look forward to more rides together.

We have had the help of Calan Neely for most of this season. He has sacrificed his time for his love of tennis and has helped a lot of our newer players to learn the game.

Cody Clayborn has also helped us for a part of the season and helped contribute lessons to net work and volleys to some of our players.

We are a blessed program, and are losing a lot of seniors this year while returning some key players for next season.

Who wants to be next in our program to go work to state and compete in our region while playing a sport you can play the rest of your life?

We will be working some this offseason but recruiting will be heavy this offseason! So if you know anyone grades 7-12 send them our way next year! We even train players under 7th grade.

We are thankful for all that contribute and put their sweat and tears into this program.

The hardest part as a coach is saying goodbye to your players.

State draws will be announced as soon as possible!

Go Bears!
