We couldn't be more excited to see Ashland hosting it's first ever State Tournament of any kind!

This is a great opportunity to show the state what Ashland is all about—an incredible community with a world-class fishery, right in our backyard.

2027 WIFA State Ice Fishing Championship

LOCATION ANNOUNCEMENT - Ashland, WI

The WIFA Board is excited to announce the location of the 2027 WIFA State Ice Fishing Championship headquarters as Ashland, WI! It is likely that the waters of Chequamegon Bay and inland lakes in Bayfield County will be in play for this event!

Event date(s) and details are being planned by the WIFA Board but the Championship will be the weekend of February 19-21, 2027!

This is a premier ice fishing destination and the opportunity for some big fish, and Great Lakes species will be on the docket!

We look forward to putting together the details for an awesome 2027 Championship!

Update!

This Saturday, during the Fun Fishing Day, we will be set up near the red pin as seen below.

We will have a path from Kreher Park out to the location we will be fishing. Just look for the Red Pop up ice shacks!
