I couldn’t be more proud of my son Jarod as he starts this new chapter at Drummond Area School District. ❤️
But I believe there’s a much bigger story behind this announcement.
Jarod has already been making a difference at Drummond for years. He’s coached basketball and helped mold young athletes into young men—not just teaching them the game, but teaching work ethic, accountability, teamwork, and what it means to be part of something bigger than yourself.
He saw an opportunity with e-sports and didn’t just talk about it—he started and developed the program. He worked to find and raise the funding and helped create a top-notch e-sports program and gaming room that gives another group of students a place to compete, belong, and succeed.
And then there’s powerlifting.
This one hits especially close to home for me because of my own life in the fitness industry. Jarod has been one of the driving forces behind developing Drummond’s powerlifting program. What has grown from that passion is something pretty incredible. Drummond now has an extremely strong and competitive powerlifting program, along with a weight room and equipment that I believe rival some of the best you’ll find in Northern Wisconsin.
Those things don’t just happen.
They happen because someone cares enough to put in the hours nobody sees. Someone finds the funding, builds the programs, coaches the kids, solves the problems, and keeps pushing because they genuinely believe in what they’re building.
That’s what makes me most proud.
For Jarod, it has never seemed to be about a title. It’s about the students and his pride in being part of Drummond School and the community. He has found different ways to reach different kids—through basketball, e-sports, powerlifting, mentoring, and now in his new role as a K-12 paraprofessional and communications coordinator.
Not every student finds their place in the same classroom, sport, or activity. Having people like Jarod willing to create those opportunities can change the direction of a young person's life.
I’m incredibly proud of the man, father, coach, mentor, and now educator he has become.
Congratulations, Jarod. This new position may be the beginning of another chapter, but you’ve already been helping write the Drummond story for years.
Proud of you, son. Keep making a difference. ❤️
Meet our new staff member! Jarod Bletsch!
We asked him few questions to help introduce him to the community!
Q: What will you be teaching/doing at Drummond? - A: This year, I’ll be working as a K-12 Paraprofessional and Communications Coordinator. As a paraprofessional, I’ll be working with students and staff to help students have a successful school year. I’ll also be helping share what’s happening around Drummond through social media, newsletters, and other school communications.
Q: What are you most excited about this year? - A: I’m most excited to work with students in a different role than I'm used to, as well as get to know even more of the Drummond school community. I’m also excited to help showcase all of the amazing things our students, staff, and school are doing throughout the year.
Q: Favorite thing to do outside of school? - A: Spending time with my family, watching sports, or playing video games. Usually some combination of the three.
Q: Fun fact about you? - A: Before my early retirement, I was at one point ranked #841 out of 1,384,196 players in the world on Rainbow Six Siege.
Q: One thing you want students to know about you? - A: I want students to know that I’m all for having fun and joking around, but I also expect people to take things seriously when it’s time to get to work.
