We had a huge focus on the aerobic capacity since the start of the year with our Rowing and Aerobic Power Intervals Assessment Categories. Many members, from our newest to our most seasoned athletes, saw improvements in their fitness and capacity through scoring higher or rowing more meters.

Just saying….what we do here at Iron Haven really works, and it’s very measurable!

This workout was appropriately named “Twizzlers” —Ropes, ropes, and more ropes!

5 rounds, 2:00 per each station
Standing Rope Sled Pull
Rope Climb Practice
Jump Rope Practice (double unders, crossovers, heavy ropes)

A fun one today for the crew! Certainly beats doing thrusters, pull ups, and rowing again 😂

If you have a solid base of strict pulling strength and you’re ready to deep dive into the mechanics of:

- kip swing for toes to bar
- kipping pull ups (non-butterfly, that’s a whole other session!)
- bar muscle ups
- ring muscle ups
- the huge differences between bar and ring muscle ups,

…then this workshop is for you!

Learn how to feel and set up the different positions you need to be in through various drills so you can be more efficient in your pulling progressions.

We highly recommend that you have at least a couple strict pull ups first to be able to get enough out of this workshop! The more, the better.

Saturday January 31st 10:05am - 11:30am.

$5 for current Iron Haven members, $20 drop in non-members (register via the regular drop in link on our website).

We’ve all come a long way from where we started.

The fear is gone, the doubt is quieter, and showing up isn’t something we have to do anymore…it’s something we choose to do.

We’ve built real strength.

More importantly, we’ve built trust in ourselves.

This isn’t about being the best in the room.
It’s about being better than what you were yesterday.

Congrats to our members who all raised their benchmarks and saw major progress across their weightlifting, kettlebell conditioning, and ring strength from all the work the past 6 weeks!

Since 2021, we’ve collaborated with each year to provide winter cross training sessions for 15+ youth athletes. 1-2x sessions per week for middle school and high school helps them get in their best general prepared physical fitness strength to tackle race season.

Our winter Hyrox programming fits perfectly with their needs - a mix of basic strength and conditioning that works on stamina and muscular endurance, in an hour-long class. These students learn the basics of lifting weights, body coordination and body awareness, and technique on different cardio equipment, which provide many benefits beyond being conditioned for mountain biking.

Looking forward to another great off-season training cycle!

Dr. Dawn Lemanne is a legend here at Iron Haven. As a woman in her 70’s, she really embodies the characteristics of hard work, consistency, curiosity, and willingness to try to things. It has been amazing to see the strength she has gained while working with us (improved bone density and lean mass). In fact, not too long ago, she demonstrated she could support her own bodyweight for 15+ seconds on top on a set of gymnastic rings!!!
