Saturdays at the Asheville Academy of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, we offer Creative Ballet (ages 3-5) from 9:00-9:30 and Creative Ballet/ Ballet IA (grades K-2nd) from 9:30-10:15 with Zoe D’Astolfo, plus Ballet I A (grades 3rd-4th) from 10:15-11:00; Ballet I B / Ballet II A with Pre-Pointe / Pointe by invitation (grades 5th-8th) from 11:00-12:30; Ballet II B (grades 9th to adult, or by invitation) from 12:30-2:00;
Pointe I from 2:00-2:45 with Allison Hertzberg.

Thursdays at the Asheville Academy of Ballet we offer Creative Ballet (ages 3-6) from 9:30-10:15am, Modern/Contemporary I (grades 3rd-6th) 4:45-5:45, Modern/Contemporary II/III (grades 7th-Adult) 5:45-6:45 with Alisha Ear, followed by Adult Ballet 6:45-8:15 with Allison Hertzberg.

FALL INTO DANCE September 18 & 19, 2026 with dancer Bell Wyman Nishimoto.

Bell is originally from Southern California, where she began dancing at age 3 and studied with Anaheim Ballet, Backhausdance, and Chapman University. Her first love was ballet, also later studying modern, contemporary, hip hop, vernacular jazz, broadway dance, character dance, and ballroom. Her favorite past performances include A Midsummer Night’s Dream, La Esmeralda, Dance of the Little Swans, and The Mistake Waltz.
Bell recently moved to Asheville from Japan, where she lived for three years teaching English on a small rural island in Shimane Prefecture.
Bell is excited to be performing in her first show with Asheville Ballet!

Wednesdays at the Asheville Academy of Ballet and Contemporary Dance we have Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)/Conditioning/Modern (grades 5th to adult) from 5:00-6:15; Ballet III from 6:15-7:45; Pointe II from 7:45-8:30 with Rachel Taylor Rachel Ann Taylor.

FALL INTO DANCE September 18 & 19, 2026 with dancer Megan Jones Medford.

Megan received a BA in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She spent six years in NYC as a professional dancer and teacher. Along with freelance work Megan was a company member with Periapsis Music & Dance, LiNK! the movement, and Shauna Sorensen and Dancers. Her performances include SummerStage, Jazz at the Lincoln Center, American Dance Guild Festival, Symphony Space, New York Moves, Carnival, and Choreographers Canvas. Megan trained with Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Martha Graham School, and American Dance Festival. She was on faculty for the Children & Teen Program at Broadway Dance Center and at All Star Studios in NYC. She has guest taught and choreographed for studios and conventions around the States. Megan and her family moved back to her hometown of Asheville, NC, where she performed with Lindsey Kelley Dance and currently performs with The Asheville Ballet and with Stewart/Owen Dance. She is thrilled to be able to share her love of dance by teaching students throughout the area.

Registration is Now Open for The Nutcracker Auditions 2026! There will be a mandatory audition meeting on September 26 from 2:45-3:45 for all parents of dancers under 18 years old, and for all dancers age 18 and over interested in performing. Nutcracker auditions will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 2:45-7:00pm. Both the meeting and auditions will be held at Asheville Academy of Ballet.
