🏹 Taking Aim on the National Stage.

This past weekend, four members of the Asheville Archery Training Center family traveled to Dublin, Ohio to compete in the 2026 Buckeye Classic, one of USA Archery’s premier USAT Qualifier Series events.

Representing AATC were:
🏹 Mary Etta Lawrence
🏹 Easton Bishop
🏹 Simon Owens
🏹 Coach Bob Park

The Buckeye Classic brings together many of the nation’s top archers, all competing for national ranking points and opportunities to qualify for the U.S. Archery Team.

We’re especially proud to celebrate Easton Bishop, who earned a Bronze Medal in U18 Compound Men, representing both AATC and North Carolina on the national stage. 🥉

Every tournament is another opportunity to learn, grow, and compete alongside some of the best athletes in the country. We’re proud of all four of our competitors for continuing to raise the standard of excellence both on and off the shooting line.

Whether you’ve never picked up a bow or you’re looking for a new challenge, there’s a place for you at Asheville Archery Training Center.

Our Intro to Olympic Recurve Workshop is the perfect first step. In this two-hour class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Olympic recurve archery in a safe, supportive environment while building confidence, focus, and proper technique.

🏹 An Unmatched Opportunity.

This weekend, our athletes had the privilege of learning from Coach Alexander Kirillov, an internationally respected coach whose athletes have competed on the world’s biggest stage. Over a coaching career spanning more than four decades, Coach Alexander has guided athletes to seven Olympic Games, bringing a level of experience and knowledge that few archery programs can offer.

At Asheville Archery Training Center, we’re proud to be the only training center in our region offering athletes the opportunity to learn directly from an Olympic coach of this caliber. Whether you’re just getting started or pursuing national and international competition, our athletes have access to world-class instruction right here in Western North Carolina.

A huge thank you to Coach Alexander for sharing your knowledge, passion, and dedication with our athletes. Your impact will be felt long after this camp.

What an incredible day for Asheville Archery Training Center at the 2026 USA Archery North Carolina Outdoor State Championship!

Our athletes demonstrated months of dedication, focus, and hard work, earning 7 podium finishes and setting 3 new North Carolina State Records. We couldn’t be more proud of every athlete who represented AATC with determination, sportsmanship, and excellence.

🏹 More Than a Medal.

For some athletes, this weekend marked their first USA Archery State Championship. For others, it was another opportunity to chase personal bests, state titles, and new records.

But every competitor left with something more than a medal.

They experienced a weekend of competition, sportsmanship, and community in Asheville—sharing the shooting line with archers from across North Carolina and South Carolina while creating memories that will last long after the final arrows were shot.

Thanks to our partnership with Explore Asheville, athletes and their families also had the opportunity to discover everything Western North Carolina has to offer through local guides, maps, and recommendations.

Hosting events like this isn’t just about archery—it’s about welcoming visitors, supporting our local community, and continuing to grow the sport we love.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 USA Archery North Carolina Outdoor State Championship such a memorable experience.

🏹 One Incredible Day. One Unforgettable Championship.

The 2026 USA Archery North Carolina Outdoor State Championship brought athletes from across North Carolina—and guest competitors from South Carolina—to Asheville for a day of outstanding competition, sportsmanship, and community.

Hosted by Asheville Archery Training Center in partnership with USA Archery, this year’s championship welcomed more than 60 archers ranging from first-time competitors to seasoned state champions, all competing for state titles and national ranking points.

The event also marked an incredible day for Team AATC, with seven podium finishes and three new North Carolina State Records.

Most importantly, this championship wouldn’t have been possible without the volunteers, coaches, judges, officials, families, and sponsors who gave their time to make the event a success. Thank you for helping us showcase competitive archery and the incredible community that continues to grow here in Western North Carolina.
