OB 101
1.) Basil sitting like a statue while her dad works on adding distractions to “stay” by tossing a toy.
2.) Going from standing to sitting while asking for “sit/stay.”
3.) R***r holding a “sit/stay” while his mom kneels infront of him. This one is extremely difficult for most dogs.
4.) Lady finding the “heel” position.
5.) Daisy having fun with a tug toy while learning the rules of tug. This lucky puppy has her own personal entourage of dog trainers in the making. They helped give all of the dogs in class a positive experience by saying hello to them from a distance while tossing treats to them. This is a great way to ensure that your dog will be excited to meet new people of all ages.

I’m posting some of our newest graduates through Instagram and trying out the new feature that allows individual comments for each picture. Let’s hope it transfers over to Facebook! I’ll take this opportunity to remind everyone to please follow us on both platforms if you haven’t already. Pongo was too handsome in his graduation hat for me to pick just one photo to post. You could look the world over and not find a sweeter, smarter boy 💙.

Zorro doing a nice sit/stay and showing off his fantastic ears. Such a sweet, soft soul. You wouldn’t believe how many different breeds are wrapped up in this neat little black and white package. I believe his mom said that his dna results came back with 17 different things listed.

One thing that always makes me smile no matter how I’m feeling is a dog with a hint of dirt around their nose. It lets me know they were sneaking in some fun earlier in the day. Echo the malinois puppy knows how to have a good time, but he also knows how to show off his obedience skills at school.

Last nights highlight reel from week 4 of puppy class:
1. Ellen demonstrating puppy push-ups with Arlo.
2. Charlie working with Ellen to demonstrate one of the ways we like to practice teaching recall.
3. Making sure that the puppies have exposure to wheels (wheelchairs, skateboards, shopping carts, bikes) to help desensitize them in order to prevent fear, anxiety, and reactivity as they grow.

*Ranger and Rufus are littermates! I wonder what they thought when they walked into their first day of kindergarten and saw each other? 🤗 I’m not sure what we did to be graced with an unusually high volume of Rottweilers lately, but I am very grateful for it!

The first picture is of our latest group of puppy graduates! Lady the boxer, Daisy the doodle, and Basil the Boykin went on to join us for our Obedience 101: Focus and Manners course last night. Daisy learning off/take it. Basil showing off how quickly she can go from a sit to a down. Lady taking advantage of the good lighting in our store to have her portrait made and also practicing her down. I hope I get to see those adorable Rottie babies in another class in the near future 🥰.
