Just a quick reminder that we are closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. All regularly scheduled classes will resume on Tuesday, May 26.

We hope you have a fun holiday weekend!

Looking Ahead: The dojo will be closed on Friday, June 19 for the Juneteenth Holiday and Sunday, July 26 - Sunday August 2 for the Annual Summer Recess.

Just a quick reminder that the 4:45 pm All Ranks Class is cancelled today. We apologize.

Sensei Winkler is in New York with Osensei today and Thursday. Mr. Thorpe, Major Myelle, Mrs. DeLong, and Mr. Butler are in charge of leading the classes.

Sensei is working on preparations for the 60th Anniversary celebration this November 13 & 14, as well as training with Osensei.

Sensei looks forward to seeing everyone when he returns!

Last weekend, we hosted the 2026 Wa-shin Ryu Spring Festival and 3rd Annual Hidy Ochiai NOVA Cup. This year’s tournament was a dedicated Junior competition and everyone performed very well and had a great time.

Master Ochiai kicked off the weekend celebration with a special class and seminar, which was attended by students as far away as Ohio, New York, Boston and Connecticut.

Our junior students all trained very hard for the competition and all their hard work was rewarded. More photos of the competition to come!

Congratulations to all who competed, and thank you so much to those who volunteered to make it such a successful weekend!

In the tradition of Japanese martial arts, the students take responsibility for cleaning the dojo, as part of our training.

Our 2026 Spring cleaning event was supported by almost 30 dedicated students and parents.

Thank you to all who participated! And a very special thank you to Mr. Thorpe and Mrs. DeLong, who organized and led the cleaning!

The dojo looks beautiful. We had a lot of fun!

The dojo is OPEN for classes during LCPS Spring Break next week!

We do have a reduced class schedule of only 1 class per day. Please see below.

March 30 - April 4

Monday: 5:30 - 6:30 pm

Tuesday: 6:15 - 7:15 pm

Wednesday: 5:30 - 6:30 pm

Thursday: 6:15 - 7:15 pm

Friday: 5:30 - 6:30 pm

Saturday: CLOSED

Summer Camp Registration is open with Full-Day and Half-Day options!

At our Summer Camps, your child will be immersed in all of our exceptional martial-art activities featuring: Karate - Self-defense, Forms, & Sport, Kobudo - Traditional weapons training, Shodo -Japanese brush painting, agility exercises, and more!

All camps are taught by Sensei Winkler.

Back this Summer: All full-day campers will get to swim at next-door neighbor Goldfish Swim School - Ashburn! We're excited to have this opportunity again!

Summer Camp is for children ages 5-12; hours are 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (late pick-up available). Half-day is from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm.
