Definitely missing the warmer weather from last week, but it’s nice to get back into the gym feeling refreshed and motivated!

Made it to the gym twice on the cruise and stayed active/moving. Had some nagging injuries I was dealing with from pushing myself of late and the light week was just what I needed. Recovery needs stays undefeated, I can’t ignore it!

I got to visit the beautiful Charleston, SC and see a home built by my g-g-g-g-great grandfather. Next up, my first cruise πŸ›³πŸ–

I rarely slow down in my day to day life and stay β€œon” a lot. Vacations are a great way to force my hand and facilitate better recovery in all facets of life. I personally like to use them as complete breaks from structured workouts and nutrition. My plan for these weeks with my health goals? Prioritize protein with unconventional eating, move and have fun, relax and recover.

What have I been up to?! Working, lifting, chilling πŸ˜‚.

I’ve found a lot of enjoyment lately on my off days from the gym just going to shoot around and then hop in the sauna for 20 minutes. Both are still stressors but they’re lower intensity and restorative relative to the typical day for me.

Anywhooo, maybe I’ll get inspired to hop on here a bit more again. We shall see πŸ˜ƒπŸ’ͺ🏻

Heel elevated squats are a great modification to get the quads contributing more. As for the high rep sets, not sure how I feel with those yet πŸ˜…πŸ˜….

I wasn’t able to pull the sword this time 😩. Time to get back to the gym and try again next year!

Tried out rock climbing for the first time today! What a fun activity and great workoutπŸ˜…. Me and the kids will be doing this a lot more in the future for sure. I can’t wait to try more challenging climbs πŸ˜ƒπŸ§—
