It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that LoCo VBC will not be fielding any teams for the 2013-2014 season.
At the beginning of this Summer during a discussion with our coaches, it became clear that they were all going to be too busy to return next season and we would need to recruit all new coaches. After doing some scouting and soul searching, I finally had to concede that the best course was to put LoCo into hibernation for now. I gave myself the rest of the Summer to see whether anything changed, but this course has only been clarified further as I am too busy to return to coaching a team myself. As I will very likely be moving to Olney, MD next Summer, the odds of LoCo returning again are somewhat small, but I am not quite ready to say we are done for good yet...only time will tell.
LoCo VBC has had a fantastic run and I am very blessed to have had this opportunity and to have had so many wonderful people be a part of the LoCo family. Thanks to everyone who shared this experience with me...coaches, players, families, and friends alike...I truly appreciate you all and wish you the best going forward. I especially want to thank the players and families from my original LoCo 16 team from the 2011-2012 season...those 12 young ladies will always have a special place in my heart.
