Can we talk about what consistency actually looks like sometimes? Because it's not always what you think.

Sometimes consistency is consistently working on your inner world, even when it feels too difficult to work on your outer world. I've recently had some things "set me back" and made it challenging to keep showing up in my businesses. For me, it can be hard to focus on certain obligations when my inner world feels like turmoil.

Consistency for me during this time hasn't looked like a perfect routine or a thriving business schedule. It's looked like small moments. Taking the dog for a walk. Showing up to teach my classes. Not just to teach, but to give myself a reason to be in the practice too, even from the teacher's mat. Taking care of myself. Not letting myself self-destruct completely, and being aware of it and calling myself out, helps too.

It's looked like noticing when I am abandoning myself and making a mental note instead of just letting it slide. Talking to my partner. Writing things down to bring to my therapist. Choosing, even imperfectly, not to fall all the way back into the old coping mechanisms that I know don't serve me.

I pushed too hard. My body let me know. I got sick. Classic.
But here's what I'm holding onto...
I learned something.
I'm still learning.
I'm still healing.

Consistency isn't perfection. It's the decision to keep choosing yourself, even in the small ways, even when you don't do it as well as you wanted to.

That counts. You count. ๐Ÿซถ

All of the versions of me that I have
been have served their purpose.
All of the versions of me that I am
are serving their purpose.
All of the versions of myself that I
have yet to be will serve their purpose.

I trust in the wisdom of my inner journey.
With gratitude and pride, I let go.

My dearest restaurant workers. Mother's Day weekend is here.

You can survive this.
I know this is about to be really challenging for a lot of you.
Even if your managers don't tell you, even if you mess up a whole bunch of tickets....

I know your body is about to be tired. Your feet might swell, your hands too, your lower back is going to feel it, and by Sunday night you probably won't want to see another human for a week. But it's also quite possible that you work really soon and you need to pick yourself back up and keep going.

I know it's hard. I also know that you love this.

So let's decompress together after the madness. If you're taking plank with your knees down (which I highly encourage!), your knees knee-d to be further back than you think. Your body should not feel the same way here as it does in tabletop.

Shifting your knees further back is what engages your core.

I recommend staying in this variation long enough to build the upper body strength you knee-d before moving into a full plank. That way, you can dial in your upper body form before bringing your lower body into the mix.

๐Ÿ’š May is Mental Health Awareness Month and at Boundless we believe in the importance of holding space for our clients while contributing to something bigger. That is what Jefferson Center for Mental Health represents. A place that shows up for members of our community and helps them move through different stages of their healing journey.

Safe Space Yoga is a trauma-informed, choice-based class designed to support people navigating trauma, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation. It runs every Sunday at 8:00am and every Thursday at 8:30am throughout May. Space is limited to 8, so we encourage you to register early.

In Safe Space Yoga you will never receive unsolicited hands-on assists and your teacher will not be moving unpredictably around the room. For a nervous system that is already overwhelmed, unpredictability can feel like one more thing to brace against. This class is designed to be the opposite of that. Predictable, gentle, and always your choice.

This class is gentle and inclusive. You don't need to have trauma or high anxiety to benefit. Safe Space Yoga welcomes you as you are, and when you join us you give yourself the opportunity to gently care for yourself while giving back to a cause that truly matters.

Note: No class this Sunday, May 11th. Happy Mother's Day! See you the following week.

Being a part of this initiative to raise money for Jefferson Center for Mental Health is something that resonates with me deeply and personally. There have been many people in my life who have needed services like this, and I am so grateful that the people I have loved had spaces like this to heal in.

We need to remove the stigma around mental health and show up for each other as we move through this world, together. Jefferson Center helps so many people in our community, and if we can join together to support their mission, we make their services more accessible for more people who need them.

I hope you'll join us. ๐Ÿ’š

This May, Boundless is proud to partner with Jefferson Center for Mental Health in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Jefferson Center has been a cornerstone of behavioral health care in our community for over 65 years, providing compassionate mental health and substance use services to individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay. Their work is vital, and we are honored to stand alongside them this month.

At Boundless, we have always believed that mental health and physical wellness are not separate conversations. Everything we offer, from massage to yoga to energy work, is rooted in the understanding that the body and mind are deeply connected. Partnering with Jefferson Center this May feels like a natural extension of who we are and what we care about.

Here is how we are showing up this month:
20% of Safe Space Yoga proceeds all month long will be donated to Jefferson Center. Safe Space Yoga runs every Sunday and Thursday in May, and space is limited so we encourage you to register early.

Amber will be hosting two donation-based Mindful Meditation classes with all proceeds going directly to Jefferson Center.
Wednesday, May 20 | 6:30 - 7:15pm
Friday, May 22 | 12:00 - 12:45pm

We have so much love for this community and we are grateful to have a space where conversations about mental health are not just welcome, they are part of the practice.
