Howdy everyone!🤠
It’s been a while since I’ve updated!
2022 was full of fun with all of the kiddos that were a part of our lesson program! We managed to get some lessons in the last couple months, working around this crazy weather and my doctor appointment schedule.
For now Prickly Pear will be taking a break while my husband and I prepare for the arrival of our baby girl ❤️🤗
Once we’ve had time to adjust I will reach back out to all current clients to start getting a lesson schedule back into works! If I have any openings after all my current clients have been contacted I will reach out to anyone I still have on the waiting list and then post on here after that!
Thank you to all my current clients for sticking with the crazy scheduling these last couple months and for being so supportive in me taking the time I need to welcome this baby into our lives!
I will hopefully see y’all back in the arena soon! Love you all! 🥰🤗

*i promise to take more lesson photos in 2023 😂🐴

Things your riding instructor wants you to know: Pt1

1. This sport is hard. You don't get to bypass the hard…..every good rider has gone through it. You make progress, then you don't, and then you make progress again. Your riding instructor can coach you through it, but they cannot make it easy.
2. You're going to ride horses you don't want to ride. If you're teachable, you will learn from every horse you ride. Each horse in the barn can teach you if you let them. IF YOU LET THEM. Which leads me to…
3. You MUST be teachable to succeed in this sport. You must be teachable to succeed at anything, but that is another conversation. Being teachable often means going back to basics time and time and time again. If you find basics boring, then your not looking at them as an opportunity to learn. Which brings me to…..
4. This sport is a COMMITMENT. Read that, then read it again. Every sport is a commitment, but in this sport your teammate weighs 1200 lbs and speaks a different language. Good riders don't get good by riding every once in awhile….they improve because they make riding a priority and give themsevles opportunity to practice.l

Prickly Pear Clients!
I hope y’all are enjoying your first week of summer! I have warned most of you we were going to be doing some arena maintenance this week while I was on vacation. It is taking a little longer than anticipated so I will be in contact with any lessons I may have to reschedule or cancel next week! This maintenance is MUCH needed and will be a benefit for us all so please be patient and we’ll get back to lessons as soon as possible! I’ll be In touch Saturday or Sunday! I can’t wait to get back to teaching soon! 🤠

One of my students asked me about throwing a rope off a horse so I asked if she wanted to learn how to do that and she was so excited to give it a try! Not a bad first time either! It was Classy’s favorite lesson by far—she just napped the whole time 😂🥰
I love what I do and the little cowgirls I get to help mold 🤠

🌵 🤠 We’re back! Prickly Pear is excited to be starting lessons again this week! All parents have been contacted and I can’t wait to see all the kids’ smiling faces!
There is some bad news though 😩Unfortunately, the weather is against us this week as we have some COLD temps coming in on Wednesday. With that being said, I will be contacting y’all the morning of lessons to let you know if they’re still on or not! Hopefully this cold weather doesn’t last too long, and we can get back to a more normal schedule soon! 🌵🤠

Took advantage of this beautiful day to start getting the mares ready for lessons to start back up next week! They were perfect ladies today, but I wouldn’t expect anything less 💕
