a nonstop core challenge with the reformer/tower combo. It's a fun and challenging time efficient workout.

Whether you are Pilates instructor or aficionado, this is a workout worth doing. There is no rest for your core and no wasted movements. You must slow it down to control every transition. That's where the magic happens✨️

The set up:

✨️long, light, yellow leg springs at the same position (six hooks down from top) on the tower
✨️All on 1 medium 💙 spring on the carriage, except bridge, I'm using footwork springs
✨️ Each move is in a different body position for an invigorating full body flow. .

This fun flow is for intermediate to advanced Pilates Reformer students and Pilates teachers. I just threaded a dowel through the straps.

This is a full body flow focusing on core and leg strength.

Put some umphhh into your chair seated leg work! It's a great variation choice for Pilates teachers to incorporate into private sessions. It is also a good choice for pregnant women and others who cannot lay down for footwork.
Leg pumps can be performed for

✔️leg and ankle strength
✔️ankle mobility and stability
✔️torso stability and core strength
✔️challenging all of the Pilates principles, including breathing, coordination, rhythm and flow, concentration and control.
✔️improving spatial awareness (cognitive awareness of where you are in space)
✔️challenging proprioception (your body's internal sensory feedback)

At 73 I'm training for...

longevity...So are my Pilates clients. How about you? I'd say the average age of the majority of my clients is 75. They do keep up💥

Here I'm using the fabulous Reformer/Tower Combo to mobilize my spine in this variation of Circle Saw on the Cadillac push thru bar.

Put a ring on it 💫

This is just one of the exercises I'm doing with the Magic Circle in my Pilates Classes this week. See more moves on my IG page💫

The Pilates Magic Circle, invented by Joseph Pilates, was originally used as a stand alone apparatus (literally) with its own classic repertoire. All exercises were done standing or sitting. The main exercises were squeezing the circle with both hands and pushing against the body with one hand.

Fast forward to 2026. The ring is so versatile, it didnt take long to make the leap to the Pilates apparati, and is commonly used on the Reformer, chair, ladder barrel, and Trapeze Table by creative movers. It adds extra arm or leg work, or can provide body support or assist moves, like the Long Spine.
