O'Neill-James School of Irish Dancing

O'Neill-James School of Irish Dancing The O'Neill-James School of Irish Dancing is a family-run, student-oriented school offering class for all ages and abilities.

Established in Washington DC in 1969, ONJ is proud to be the longest-running Irish dance school in the Nation's Capital. The mission of the O'Neill-James School of Irish Dancing is to foster in each dancer a strong sense of self esteem, confidence, teamwork, and a healthy mind and body. Classes are available for children ages four and up, from the beginner to championship level, as well as for adults. ONJ is committed to the creation of a fun, safe, and disciplined learning environment that encourages each dancer to develop his or her skills through hard work and respect in compliance with the Child Protection and Welfare Policy adopted by An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (The Irish Dancing Commission). Classes begin the week of 14 September, as we welcome our new Artist-in-Residence Chris Naish, Founder and Artistic Director of the Fusion Fighters and Fusion Fest. Chris will bring his experience in Irish dance competition and traditional and modern performance choreographies to the O'Neill-James School of Irish Dancing's Fall 2026 class schedule, engaging students of all ages and levels.

Due to a large number of conflicts with graduations and other end-of-school-year activities, the O’Neill-James School of Irish Dancing is rescheduling the annual Spring Recital to Sunday, 14 June 2026.

The recital will take place in the Main Hall at the Knights of Columbus (5115 Little Falls Rd, Arlington, VA) from 6-8PM. Doors will open at 5:30PM. No advance tickets required - family and friends are welcome!
