There's a lot of 🦠🦠 going on, and going into fall, there's going to be more.

This doesn't get talked about enough, but there's a LOT we can do to help enhance our immune systems so they protect us from any illness that might try to take us down.

Bonus: these tips also promote consistent energy levels and weight loss.

-Get 7-9 hours of sleep a night
-Getting proper nutrition through a diet rich in the 2 P's--plants and protein
-Getting sunshine on the skin (not too much!) and time in nature often
-Getting in daily movement
-Minimizing irritants to your system-heavily processed foods, excessive amounts of refined sugar, alcohol, any foods you are sensitive, allergic or intolerant to.
-Actively managing stress through healthy coping mechanisms.

What are you doing to keep healthy??? Tell us in the comments!

Grateful that I woke up this morning and was healthy enough to go smash my qwads .

I’ve never been one to get bummed when a famous person dies that I don’t even know, but John Meadows passing has me shook. He was younger than my husband and that makes me think. Both about how incredibly blessed we are to be alive and healthy and what a true gift that is.

So in the spirit of the mountain dog, ask yourself “wwjd” (what would John do) and go crank it up because you’re alive and you’re able. This applies to more than lifting too 😉—I’m going to pour into my clients and my tribe.Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed to any of us. So go and get it today fam. 🙌🏻

Never miss a Monday, amirite?💪🏻🤘🏻

Had a wonderful pull day and got some deads in for the first time since my show. I’ve got my eye set on hitting that big 315 deadlift this off-season 😈.

What are you doing to move today? Lifting? Walking? Yoga? Zumba? Tell me your sweaty Monday plans in the comments!

For a good laugh, the last picture shows where I dribbled water on my tan, which was a moment of ultimate frustration that was probably pretty funny for Bart, maybe not so much for me at the time. 🤦🏼‍♀️😅 bless the folks at NWCC for helping a girl out.

This guy is in the middle of a 13 day workweek (yep uh huh you do the math on that one) just so he could take a weekend off to be my support system when I took the stage.

I’m not quite sure how I’m worthy of that kind of love but I’m eternally grateful to be loved so well.

Might need to do another show to make him take a day off. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

I used to have it all backwards.

“I’ll start when I feel ready”

“I’ll do cardio when I feel motivated”

“I’ll do my bookkeeping when I’m in the mood” (…😆 cause that’s gonna happen!)

I always thought the feeling came before the action, but I learned feelings don’t work like that.

Actions though, they’ll create the feeling.

I definitely don’t always feel like working out but as soon as I complete a warm up set, I feel motivated to finish.

I don’t always feel like eating healthy, but when I choose to I start feeling empowered to make healthy choices.

I definitely didn’t feel like a coach when I first started out, but actually helping people change their lives and walking the walk allows me to truly feel like a coach.

So if I can offer any advice on a sunny Saturday, it’s to flip your thinking if you’re waiting on a feeling to go and do something.

The action must come first, the feeling will follow.

Have a good one fam. 😘

The most ironic thing about the sport of bodybuilding is you spend months and years working on the superficial and yet the biggest transformation occurs with what can’t be seen. It’s internal. The process of getting ready for the stage builds strength, grit, discipline, perspective, determination and perseverance. We’re ultimately judged on our appearance but every single person who steps up there has drastically transformed on the inside.

That transformation has spilled into every aspect of my life: personal, athletic, spiritual, relational and especially professional.

This is why I love competing. I get better as a person every single time.

Capped off an interesting week with a kick ass competition day!

I ended up taking 4th in Masters figure 35, 4th in open class A and 2nd in novice🥈🏅.

Did I want to do better than that?

Sure.

Did the ladies who placed better deserve it?

Hell yes they did!

Am I mad?

Not whatsoever.

Am I ready to go improve for next time?

F*ck yes.😈

This isn’t the culmination of my bodybuilding days, they’ve barely begun!! I’m still very much a young competitor as far as experience goes. I’m really excited for how my shape has improved since last competition and I know next time I’m gonna blow this look out of the water.

Thank you for all of the well wishes, texts, calls, prayers and good juju. I appreciate all of you so very much.

A very huge thank you to both and for helping guide and coach me to the stage. I couldn’t have done this without you.

Thanks to and for the killer posing seminar.

Thanks to the crew at and for staying open and providing training facilities and family. Because of you guys I am blessed with places to go do what I truly love and that’s train hard.

And a big thank you to and Williams productions for putting on a fantastic and fun show. Its been a wild ride for bodybuilding through the pandemic and isn’t for the faint of heart lol. So thank you for persevering through all the uncertainty to pull off a great show.

Last but most importantly, thank you to my handler, husband, partner and personal Traeger chef . I could never do this without your unending love and support. Team Blix forever. ❤️

Better photo dump coming later. For now, this is what I got. Swipe to see my glorious dinner and other random shots from yesterday.😁

Today I step back up on that stage.

This prep has been an interesting juxtaposition. In many ways it went so completely smooth in regards to me staying healthy and injury free. I completed every rep, every set, every minute of cardio and ate every macro. Drank all the water. Attacked my sleep like it was my worst enemy (cause insomnia Is my enemy🤣). We steadily chipped away at my Covid weight and brought me down 29 pounds to a new prep low.

But it’s also marked by one of the absolute worst case scenarios and it almost didn’t even happen.

5 weeks into prep my stepson died unexpectedly. It was crushing. It’s still crushing. I made a decision to continue forth in this prep so I could use my training as a beacon of normalcy. I needed routine because if you’ve ever gone through something similar, there’s nothing normal that happens in those first days and weeks.

I’ve searched for meaning in his death for 4 months now because I strongly believe that life happens FOR us, not to us. And while I still struggle to understand why He felt the need to call Connor home , I can see now that this mega life storm has at least brought me perspective and purpose.

I rarely freak out at things I once would have melted down over. I have a far better understanding and grasp on what’s truly worth my stress. It’s allowed me to stay focused because I don’t get distracted by little petty problems anymore (ok, maybe sometimes. I’m human).

Connor lived life on Connors terms and nobody else’s. I loved that about him. So I am doing that for him. He didn’t give a rats butt about bodybuilding, but he would 100% support anyone doing what they love that lights their soul up.

So Connor J, your coming up on stage with me today so I can live with purpose and passion and truly enjoy the day. This is for you bud. I love you.🧡🧡

Happy birthday to my favorite person🥳

Life with you has been a wild ride, especially the last 6 months.

Watching your courage, faith, grace, bravery and vulnerability over the past few months fills me with pride and honestly leaves me with no words. You are such a strong man and you’re just beginning to tap your potential. You’re proof that age is just a number. Thanks for always being there for me and supporting me through all of it. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for you. ILY.

PS happy 14 years of us. ❤️❤️ how did that happen?!
