one week with my 2oz per day weight gaining, afternoon mama cuddling, non-stop pooping & eating sweet (little) boy 🤍

i can’t believe a week has already gone by since we welcomed hunter into the world! both my boys were early to the party — grayson at 38+1 weeks and hunter at 38+4 weeks. i am so thankful for the extra days spent with them both 🥰

over the past week we have started to become adjusted to life as a family of 4, my body continues to heal from birth, and we are learning more about hunter’s needs as a babe!

i am SO excited about my postpartum journey 2.0 💪🏼 for the first 6 weeks post delivery i will be focusing on healing, family & mobility. once 6 weeks has gone by and i’m cleared to workout again, it’ll be a brand new set of goals 🔥

it’s going to be a challenging road ahead but i’m more than ready to put in the sweat & (many) tears over the coming months ++ years 👊🏻

can’t believe little bean (aka google, according to gray😂) will be here in less than 2 months!

in all honesty… i’m nervous about adding a second boy to our home, especially since grayson is my baby boy 🥺

but gray is going to flourish into his new role as BIG BRO! 🙌🏻 he is already such a helper with cleaning, picking up his toys, throwing trash out and communicating his needs (for the most part!). he even started to acknowledge there is a baby in my belly — except he calls my baby brother “google” 😅😅 we’re working on that.

MOMMA’S👉🏻 what’s your best piece of advice for welcoming a newborn into your home with a toddler? bonus points if you are a boy mom of 2!!

growth or fixed mindset — do you know which one you have? 🧠

⬇️ GROWTH:
“my attitude and effort determine my abilities”

“failure is an opportunity to grow”

in other words, growth is freedom & fixed is limiting.

to be honest, this pregnancy has presented me with too many “fixed” mindset situations. one of which being working out.

working out is not only my escape but something that fills my cup up ☕️

instead of creating time for things that are important to my health & happiness, i’ve been making 101 excuses 🙅🏻‍♀️

i challenge you to reflect on your past choices. are you REALLY challenging yourself to be better than yesterday? last week? last month?!

although my bump may be “non-existent” from the first pic, i’m here to show you that little bean has already grown into an 11 oz babe — 15lb weight gain and all for me 🙌🏻

true life — i haven’t posted on instagram in 19 days and it felt AMAZING 🙌🏻

over the past couple of weeks, i had a pretty bad sinus infection that i got from gray . to be honest, this pregnancy has been a totally different ball game than the first…

🤒 2 colds this time, zero with gray

🏋🏻‍♀️ working out 3x/wk this time, 4-6 with gray

😴 extreme fatigue 2nd trimester this time, tons of energy with gray

➕the list goes on!

as much as i don’t want to compare the two journey’s, especially since they are both boys, i can’t help it! anyone else feel me?

over the past few weeks, i have been prioritizing my health more than ever. i personally avoid medication unless absolutely necessary (epidural after 46 hours of natural labor was the only time with gray🥴) so here are some ways i naturally support my health:

💤 7-9 hours of total sleep per night (even if that means going to bed at 830/9 or skipping a morning workout)

🧘🏻‍♀️ daily movement: walking, stretching, peloton & strength training are my go-to’s

⚖️ balanced diet: whole grains, veggies, fruits,

💊 daily supplementation: prenatal, probiotic, fish oil, magnesium, collagen, reds & greens (post workout only on training days)

💦 100oz + of water DAILY!

🌱 essential oils: these have been life changing for me as an all-natural substitute for stomach pains, headaches, sinus pain, back pain, dry skin, sleep, etc. 10/10 recommend!

👩‍⚕️ chiropractor: biweekly adjustments and muscle work has been a part of my life for 8 years now, positively transforming my nervous system for the better! 🙏🏻

15 WEEKS (+ 2 days😅) with little bean!

taking progress pictures while chasing gray around before work is no joke — but i’m committing to it weekly 👏🏻 swipe left to see my little potates cheesing with his little bro baking!

👇🏻 here’s a snapshot of what’s been going on the past few weeks since my last update:

💙 FATIGUE
even though i’m officially in the second trimester, i actually became extremely tired since hitting 12/13 weeks. iron, sleep and diet is in check but pregnancy is taking a toll on my ability to feel energized.

💙 WORKOUTS
when i was pregnant with gray, i worked out 5-6 days per week up until 32 weeks (thank you carpal tunnel & swelling). but this time around it’s a whole new ball game. my sustainable goal is daily movement through walks and stretching + 3 lifts a week. i’ve been BARELY reaching that goal 🤣 but even if i get a quick 20 minute session in at my home gym, i’m not beating myself up about it like i would the first time.

💙 DIET
overall i am having really balanced meals throughout the day! just like with my first pregnancy, i have a secret stash of double stuffed Oreos 🤷🏻‍♀️ and reach for the almost daily cereal before bed. but no aversions to chicken or veggies like with gray!

💙 BODY
i started around 136/138lbs and weighed in at 145lbs this morning. i gained just about 40 lbs the first time but this isn’t something that scares me since i need the extra love to help my little bean grow 🌱 just like with gray, i’m carrying super low + my butt and upper legs are already starting to bulk up. not stressing about it at all though this time around!!

TOMORROW we find out little bean’s gender 😬 what do you think he/she is?

with gray, i was convinced it was a girl up until literally the minutes before the reveal. this time i’m almost certain it’s a another boy but then have random moments where i picture a girl next.

💜💙

either way, i’m so excited to find out who this little bean is so we can maybe pick out a dang name before january🤣

this right here is what dreams are made of 🏋🏻‍♀️ post leg day swolfie at a REAL GYM.

it’s been 8 months since i stepped foot in a gym other than my garage setup. don’t get me wrong, my home gym has been incredible BUT there’s something about the atmosphere when you’re in the real deal 👏🏻
