Pippa ran back-to-back 5k’s this weekend, and somewhere along the way achieved that running nirvana of “I CAN actually do this!” Very proud moments, even if she did leave me in the dust at the end of the 2nd race :).

Pippa’s first official 5k with Girls on the Run. She may have yelled at me a few times during the race 😳 but she is ready to do it again. And some Tank the Superhorse time to wrap the weekend up!

It’s been a minute since I did a bigger race, but a fun race today in Richmond. 1:46 for the half. Not my fastest time by far, but that’s not what it’s really about, is it? Happy to be able to still do this!

Forgot how tough the Ragnar Black Loop is - 33 miles over 24 hours on some pretty technical trails…and 7 miles overnight, stumbling over rocks and roots in the dark. But it was also a whole lot of fun and a great feeling crossing that finish line. Also made it to a fall farm, of course :).

Great discussion last night with a group of my running clients about the mental challenges of running. It's NOT all fun and games, despite how it looks in the movies :).

Remember, take full advantage of the running community. We are a supportive bunch and we all deal with many of the same mental blocks and hurdles.

Onward to the next event! Registration for my track-based work for kids this fall. Mondays from 5:30-6:30pm.

The Fall Running Program: Track-Based Work is on Monday September 16, 2024 to Monday October 28, 2024.
