Looking for something a little different this summer?

At Soulstice Stables in Arlington, we're offering several horse-centered experiences designed for beginners, families, and women looking to spend time around horses in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

🐴 Horses 101, 102 & 103 – beginner-friendly classes for kids who want to learn about horses beyond just riding.

🐴 Horse Basics for Adults & Parents – perfect for anyone who wants to understand horse behavior, safety, grooming, and handling before getting in the saddle.

🍷 Women, Wine & Horses – an evening to unwind, connect with horses, enjoy good company, and experience the calming presence of these amazing animals.

No horse experience is needed for any of these programs.

If you've ever been curious about horses, wanted your child to learn more, or simply need a unique way to spend an evening, we'd love to welcome you.

Class sizes are intentionally small to keep the experience personal.

Life doesn't always happen the way we expect or want, but being able to pivot and go with it instead of fighting it is sometimes the best thing to do. That lesson applies to life, and to horses.

This morning's lesson had a horse that my student wanted to ride, but he told us it was not a good idea. Instead of pushing him and possibly exasperating something, we listened to him and switched horses. In doing so, we let him have the rest he needs and built trust in our communication. When horses begin to understand that we hear and listen to them, they begin to communicate to us so much more.

Horses and riding is so much more than us forcing the horse to do what we want.
Where is the partnership in that?...
Where is the fun in that?!

Yes there are times in training or for safety reasons the horse has to do what we say. Similar to children. But if we see this creature as so much more than something we sit on and make go where we want to go, your relationship with them can't help but deepen.

And, ultimately, isn't that what we all want? We all got into riding because of our love for this animal. And sometimes that gets forgotten.

With horses, and in life, letting go and going with the flow will make you so much happier.

Yesterday morning's sunrise over the pasture was one of those moments that makes you stop and appreciate the simple things.

The horses were quietly grazing, the birds were singing, and for a few minutes the world felt a little slower.

In a busy world, horses have a way of bringing us back to the present moment. They don't worry about yesterday or rush toward tomorrow—they simply are.

That's one of the many reasons I love sharing these animals with others.

What's something that helped you slow down and recharge this week?

Fresh air, sunshine, the smell of the barn, and time spent learning alongside these incredible animals.
