A little sample of some of the Coho we are catching currently out in the salt. The Sound is absolutely LOADED with Silvers right now! They'll be making their way to the rivers shortly. I can't wait!

I've got availability for when these suckers start flooding the local rivers. It's going to be fun!

I love this time of year! I've been chasing a different species just about every day. One day it's bobber fishing for Kings, another day it's trolling a local lake for Kokanee and now hitting we're Puget Sound for some Silvers!

It was great to be back on the Kokanee grounds with some awesome people. They had a blast reeling these things in! The fish have definitely put on some size over summer! Elgin Fishing Godstooth spoons and Mack's Lure Wedding rings and smile blades got it done.

A little bobber-down action from yesterday. I'm looking forward to more of this over the next few months!

BTW, it was a swing and a miss🤣. But, I hooked another on the very next cast😉

**Fall Coho and late Summer Kokanee trips**

With fall nearly upon us, I've got a host of great fishing opportunities coming up.

To start things off, we have fall Kokanee from now through early October. These fish have been putting on weight all summer and get super aggressive right before the spawning season. Super fun, fast action, and a limit of 10 per person!

Next up, are Coho aka Silver Salmon. Right now the Silver fishing is outstanding in Puget Sound and bodes well for when they get to the rivers. With over 200k forecast to return to the Skagit alone, it will be a great season! These will be mostly 2 person driftboat trips. This year, I am teaming up with another local guide to accommodate groups of 3 to 6 people. There are also walk-in options by request.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:

Coho (Silver Salmon) Skagit and Stillaguamish rivers. Late September through October. $275 per person 2 person minimum (2 person max on driftboat trips. Ask about 3 to 6 person trips.)

Kokanee: North sound Lakes. Now through early October. $175 per person. $150 per person with 3 people. 2 person minimum and 3 person maximum.

2026 summer Sockeye season review post: (Long read but worth it!)

Last week I wrapped up my sockeye season at Baker. First off, I wanted to start by thanking those that booked with me. Lake Wenatchee not opening definitely threw a wrench in things. Typically I start at Baker for a few weeks and then move over to Wenatchee when that opens. Both of those fisheries are in polar opposites of each other on a map, so I had to cancel or reschedule many of those trips. Several of you decided to swap over to Baker though and I really appreciate that!

The fishing was pretty good. Although that first week and a half after the opener was a grind some days. We still got into fish everyday though! They were a lot more finicky this year, even for an already finicky fish😆. Constant gear changes, bait swaps, some days they wanted it slow, some days faster. However, the rest of the season was pretty dang good all things considering. Fishing pressure dropped and we got things dialed in a little more. Most days we were averaging 2 to 3 fish per person with some limit days mixed in.

The size on some of the fish this year were massive! We had several fish 7 to 9 pounds on the boat. I even heard of some larger ones hooked or caught but none quite broke the state record of 10.6lbs. There were also quite a few 3 year old Jack Sockeye, which bodes well for next year's return!

All in all it was a good season and it was nice staying close to home this summer. Despite fishing this fishery since 2011, I learned A LOT this season. As anglers and guides it's paramount that we continue to sharpen our skills and yearn for knowledge. My grandfather would always ask me at the end of every fishing trip, "so, what did you learn today?".

Next year, I predict great Sockeye runs all the way around including a Lake Wenatchee Sockeye fishery. But if not, than we will smash them at Baker!!

NEXT UP COHO!: Sockeye are done but fishing season is just ramping up! I'll be running Coho (Silvers) trips staring in late September in the Skagit and Stillaguamish rivers. The Skagit is forecast to get over 200,000 fish alone so don't miss out! I also have some fall Kokanee options now through early October. They've been growing all summer and are aggressive!

If you read this far you are awesome!! Keep checking my page in the coming weeks and months. Going to be a great fall season!!

Here are some pics from the last 2 months at Baker:

Not a bad day to end Sockeye season on Baker Lake! I always like to do a personal trip to close things out. Man, what a calm and serene day it was, and some bright Sockeye to boot!

I'll share some more photos from the season on my page in the next few days.

Next up, fall Kokanee and Silvers on the Skagit and Stilly!

There have been some BIG Sockeye around this year. Shawn was lucky enough to catch 2 absoulute hawgs in the same trip! They went 8 and 9 pounds, respectively. Just a pound and a half shy of the state record!
