🏆🎾 2ND IN THE MIDWEST — WHAT A FIRST YEAR! 🎾🏆

The 2026 season has come to an end for our River Trails 40+ 3.0 Men’s team, and we couldn’t be prouder of what this group accomplished in its very first year together.

🏆 Won TWO local seasons
🏆 Chicago District Champions
🏆 Illinois State Champions
🥈 2nd Place at Midwest Sectionals

The team finished Sectionals with a 2–1 record, coming just one team win away from a trip to Nationals.

An incredible run for a first-year team—but getting that close leaves us with one feeling:

UNFINISHED BUSINESS.

Congratulations to all the players who made 2026 such a special season, along with Captains Adrian Ciuca and Andy Paik.

We are so proud of our River Trails 18+ 4.0 Women’s Team as their season comes to an end.

They have had an absolutely fantastic run, finishing the summer season with an impressive undefeated 8-0 record. Their 2026 playoff run was equally impressive, as they amassed a 7-1 record throughout the District, State, and Sectional Playoffs.

Under the leadership of team captain Liza Spinazze, the ladies fought hard through some incredibly competitive matches to earn each of their victories. Their dedication, teamwork, and positive spirit were evident throughout the entire season.

While their journey may have ended just short of Nationals, there is so much to celebrate about what this team accomplished. We can’t wait to see what this talented group will accomplish next season!

A well-deserved round of applause for these ladies and the way they represented River Trails, the Northern District, and the state of Illinois with pride, grit, and sportsmanship! 👏🎾🏆

🏆🎾THE 18+ 3.5 WOMEN’S TEAM IS HEADING TO NATIONALS!🎾🏆

Following Captain Denise Lam, the River Trails 18+ 3.5 Women’s Team will advance to Nationals after going undefeated in 3 matches to win their USTA Midwest Sectionals, with their River Trails Family cheering them on!

Making it to Nationals is an incredible accomplishment, and it’s a reflection of everything this team has worked for throughout the season. From the regular season to Sectionals, every match, every lineup, and every moment along the way helped get this team here. What an amazing achievement for a group of women who have shown so much talent, determination, and team spirit. Congratulations on an incredible season and best of luck at Nationals! 🎾🏆

🏆🎾 ONE MORE FOR RIVER TRAILS — THE 18+ 3.5 MEN ARE NATIONALS BOUND! 🎾🏆

What a way to put the finishing touch on an incredible weekend for River Trails Tennis Center!

Our 18+ 3.5 Men’s team has captured the USTA Midwest Sectional Championship and punched its ticket to NATIONALS in Surprise, Arizona! 🌵🏆

For Captains Adrian Ciuca and Michael Hong, this championship is especially rewarding. This team wasn’t built overnight. Over the past several years, countless hours have gone into building the roster, putting together lineups, finding the right combinations, keeping players involved, and creating the depth and chemistry necessary to compete at this level.

But captains can only put players on the court—the players have to deliver.

And this group delivered. 4 straight wins this past weekend including a 4-1 in the last match against undefeated Michigan.

Every player who has represented this team along the way deserves a piece of this championship. Whether you played at Sectionals, helped us get through the regular season, stepped in when the team needed you, or supported your teammates from the sidelines, you helped get this team to where it is today.

That’s what makes this accomplishment so rewarding. It wasn’t one weekend, one lineup, or one individual performance. It was the result of a group of players buying into the same goal and putting in the work over an entire season—and, in many cases, over several seasons. One Club, One Goal!

Now there is one more stop.

USTA NATIONALS. SURPRISE, ARIZONA. 🌵☀️🎾

And yes, Arizona… SURPRISE! River Trails is coming! 😂🏆

🏆🎾 MIDWEST SECTIONAL CHAMPIONS — ORLANDO BOUND! 🎾🏆

Another River Trails team is heading to NATIONALS!

Our 18+ 3.0 Men’s team put together an incredible weekend at the USTA Midwest Sectional Championships, finishing UNDEFEATED and earning their ticket to Nationals in Orlando, Florida! 🌴☀️🎾

The weekend started in dominant fashion with back-to-back 5–0 victories over the champions from Indiana and Wisconsin. But championships aren’t always easy, and when things got tighter, these guys showed exactly what they were made of.

They followed those wins with two hard-fought 3–2 victories, first against Michigan and then against Ohio, completing a perfect weekend and claiming the Midwest Sectional Championship!

Four matches. Four wins. 16 individual courts won. And one ticket to Nationals! 🏆✈️

From dominant victories to matches that came down to the smallest margins, this team found a way every single time. That’s what makes this accomplishment so special—the depth, the fight, and the ability to deliver when the pressure was at its highest.

Congratulations to the entire team and Captain Adrian Ciuca on an outstanding achievement. You represented River Trails, the Chicago District and the state of Illinois with pride and grit, and now you get the opportunity to do it on the biggest stage.

🏆🎾 RIVER TRAILS IS HEADING TO NATIONALS!!! 🎾🏆

What a journey for our 18+ 2.5 Ladies!

Our newest River Trails USTA team entered its very first playoff run and certainly made the most of it. After earning their way to the Midwest Sectional Championships, these ladies faced strong teams representing Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan—and came away UNDEFEATED!

They battled their way through two nail-biting 2–1 victories in their first two matches before leaving absolutely no doubt on Sunday, closing out the weekend with a decisive 3–0 win and punching their ticket to USTA NATIONALS! 🇺🇸🏆

For a team experiencing the USTA postseason for the very first time, this has been an incredible run. They competed, supported one another, handled the pressure, and kept finding ways to win when it mattered most.

Sectional Champions. Undefeated. Nationals bound.

Ladies, enjoy this one—you earned it! The entire River Trails family is incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to follow the next chapter of this journey.

🏆 Congratulations on an Incredible Summer, Ladies! 🎾

We are proud to celebrate our River Trails B Red team — the 2026 Lakeshore Women’s Tennis League B Red Champions!

What a season! The ladies finished with an outstanding record of 7 wins, 0 losses, and 1 tie, earning the top spot in the B Red Division and bringing another championship home to River Trails Tennis Center.

Their success also means a new challenge awaits! Next season, the team will move up and compete in the B Blue Division, where we know they’ll continue to represent River Trails with the same competitive spirit, teamwork, and camaraderie that made this season so successful.

Please join us in giving these ladies a well-deserved round of applause for a fantastic season! 👏🏆🎾

Huge congrats to the River Trails 3.5 team for bringing home the State Championship title! Captain Denise Lam and her crew of 18+ superstars outplayed the competition, edging out rival districts in a thrilling two-match showdown.
