I spent many hours a week planning out our practices for our physical training, but rarely spend any time preparing for training in godliness. Perhaps now is the time to start!

There is an IronMan 70.3 race coming to our city in a few months where over 2,500 athletes will compete with all they’ve got to cross the finish...

It's sad I have to be reminded to do this on a daily basis. I know the importance. I know God set the precedence. I know I should. Yet still I find myself ignoring rest repeatedly. Take your time now to do so.

Unprecedented times have put us in places of unexpected separation and isolation. Regular schedules and seasons have been disrupted and many are...

When We Practice Real Love

1 John 3:18–20 My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.

Something we are particularly poor at in the US right now, particularly politically. What pops to mind is Allen Iverson..."we're talking about practice!" Perhaps we should put this verse in big print at the top of our daily schedules every day, because we need to practice love.

Several years ago, Sara Tucholsky of Western Oregon University smacked her first home run in her college career with two runners on base in a...

This is one of the most talked about subjects from coach to player, yet one of the most difficult to model. It is so easy to forget or gloss over when it comes to winning a game. Jim Rome frequently states, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying." Are we teaching our kids to flop to make it look like a charge? Are we teaching them to flop around like a fish in order to get a PK? While we may get away with it and win the game, have we really accomplished anything? When we meet our maker and have to give account for all we've done, is He going to forgive us because we won the game?

Throughout history there have been a proliferation of sports scandals at the amateur and professional levels. In most, if not all of the situations...
