The horses, riders and competition that have helped make The Run For A Million one of the premier events in Western performance horse sports are coming to a nationwide television audience.
Taylor Sheridan’s THE RUN FOR A MILLION will air August 22 from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT and 7 p.m. CT on the CBS Television Network and will also be available on Paramount+.*

Sheridan, who created The Run For A Million and serves as an executive producer of the CBS special, will call the action from the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas. He will be accompanied by industry expert Steve Ross, National Reining Horse Association Professional and Million Dollar Rider Gunny Mathison, and guest commentator Francesca Sternberg, one of the most accomplished Non Pro riders in the reining industry.

The two-hour special will take viewers inside the Million Dollar Competition, where 16 of the world’s leading reining riders guide their horses through a demanding pattern of circles, spins and sliding stops in pursuit of the event’s championship and a share of the $1 million purse.

A few more Winter Slide winners to congratulate:

Rodion Cantacuzene and A Girl With No Name took home the Prime Time and Masters Non Pro, and AQHA Select titles. Glen Reed and Walla Wears A Jersey won the Legends Non Pro.

The Winter Slide welcomed 1st Time Reiner Rhemy Sauter who made his reining debut with SHR Work of Art (Casper) in the Ride and Slide and Green Reiners. Rhemy says he fell in love with reining when he was first introduced to the class as member of a horse judging team while in high school.

The Tinker With Dreams "Cilantro" Non Pro Derby, Markel Horse Insurance Novice Horse Non Pro Derby and Red River Veterinary Services and Red River Reproduction Center Non Pro Challenge wrapped up the 2026 Winter Slide. Congrats to these winners:

• There was a three-way tie among Kylie Schreibvogel and Dunitona Specialnite, April Gentry and GunnaBeFine and Kelsey Flessner and Pawn Stars for the Non Pro Derby Championship L4 and L3. April also won the Novice Horse Non Pro and Kelsey won the Non Pro and Intermediate Non Pro.

• Kalicia Walters and Gunna Enter To Win won the L2 and L1.

• In the Non Pro Challenge, Sorrel Brooks Schreibvogel and Chexalicious and Carly Jones and Detective McClane tied for top honors in L4 , L3, L2 and L1. Carly also won the Limited Non Pro.

The GeneTech USA Open Derby and Markel Horse Insurance Novice Horse Open Derby had some stellar runs today! Here are the winners:

• Dany Tremblay and Walla Be A Balla, owned by Pastorino Hay & Ranch and Leonardo Kellermann riding V Is For Vendetta, owned by Thiago Boechat tied in L4 Open Derby and Novice Horse Open Derby. Trembly also won the Open and Kellermann won the L3 Open Derby.

• Kaleb Nicholson and his own Smart Chic 66 won the L2 and L1.

• Sumer Opinker and Miss Emily Jewel owned by Alicia Foley took home the 8 & Older Open L4 Maturity.

• In the Intermediate, Niv Haim Bar-Am and MVP Back In Black owned by Misty Valley Performance took the top spot. The pair also tied for first in the Limited Open with Yali Avraham and Infernos Mistress owned by 70 Stables.
