At the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society, America’s first skating club, our mission is to preserve and promote the sport, art and history of figure skating for recreation and competition. People come to the PSCHS to skate and they stay because of our excellent coaches and staff, fantastic and plentiful ice, friendly atmosphere, and convenient location in a club-owned, year round facilit

y in Philadelphia’s Main Line suburb of Ardmore just 20 minutes from Philadelphia. Our welcoming environment, comprehensive on- and off-ice skating programs and fun social events promote camaraderie, sportsmanship, health and fitness for children and adults at all skill levels. Our rink is unique because it is truly geared for figure skating with high quality ice, abundant natural light, a wall of mirrors, no boards and no hockey teams. Come and skate with us, watch your favorite skaters from our warm lounges, or check out our fully stocked skate shop and skate sharpening services. PSCHS has something for everyone, old or young, experienced or beginner. Unlike a regular club, our rink is owned by our members and many of our activities are solely dedicated to their enjoyment and advancement. In these days of constant scheduling and stress, there is no better place for family fun and fitness, recreation, exercise, camaraderie, competitions, exhibitions, tests, camps, Special Olympics, and much more. Skater Spotlight: Caroline Mullen & Brendan Mullen

We’re excited to welcome sibling skating team Caroline & Brendan Mullen to Legacy in Motion!

Caroline and Brendan have skated together since 2017 and are the 2025 U.S. Junior Bronze Medalists. Off the ice, they’re both students at George Mason University — Caroline studies neuroscience, while Brendan majors in computer science with a minor in mathematics.

Our officials have been busy this summer!

We’re proud of the many PSCHS members who give back to figure skating as U.S. Figure Skating officials!

From Cardinal Classic and Chesapeake Open to Skate Wilmington, the Excel Final and Festival, Lake Placid Dance Championship, Cranberry Open, Philadelphia Summer Championships, Potomac Memorial Open and more, PSCHS members who serve as U.S. Figure Skating officials have been giving their time, expertise and countless hours behind the scenes to support competitions throughout the region and beyond.

A big thank you to Laura Mitchell, Susan Miller, Michelle Marvin, Ann O’Keefe, Andrea Isaacson, Bob Horen, Mike Wolek, Joanne N, Andrea Plasky, Deborah Spence, Beth Delano, Carrie Bacasa, Melanie Boerner and Karen Farinella for their service to the figure skating community this summer.

And a very special shout-out to Bob Horen, who was honored by U.S. Figure Skating for an incredible 50 years of judging! What an amazing milestone—and an extraordinary commitment to the sport.

We’re also proud to recognize Michelle Marvin, who was appointed National Dance Referee, and Ann O’Keefe, who was selected to serve on U.S. Figure Skating’s Nominating Committee, representing the Eastern Section.

PSCHS is proud to have so many members who dedicate their time, knowledge and expertise to serving the greater figure skating community. Many have devoted decades to officiating, continually advancing their training and giving back to the sport.

Get ready for an unforgettable performance! We’re thrilled to welcome Raffaella Koncius & Alexey Shchepetov to Legacy in Motion—and especially excited to celebrate a special homecoming for Alexey, who got his start at PSCHS!

As members of U.S. Figure Skating’s National Team/Team USA, Raffaella & Alexey have represented Team USA on the international stage, including at the FISU World University Games. They also captured the 2024 Senior Ice Dance title in Lake Placid!
