Asheville Rowing Club showed up in force to the Dogwood Masters Classic Regatta this past weekend. The crew brought home 13 medals with boats competing in almost every event! A special congrats to Parker & Emily who competed in their first race in a single as well as to Ali for coxing her first sprint race!

What an incredible day of racing despite the weather. Thank you Oak Ridge Rowing for putting on this amazing regatta each year. Looking forward to the next one!

This past weekend, Asheville Rowing Club held its first Learn to Row class of 2026. Participants brought enthusiasm, focus, and a willingness to learn from the very first session.

Thank you to the many volunteers who gave their time, energy, and expertise over four days to create such a positive experience. Our club is stronger because of people who show up for others, and this class was a great example of that.

With 7 (6 gold and 1 silver) medals in 9 entries Asheville Rowing Club’s 2026 sprint season got off to a strong start at the Clemson Sprints Regatta.

Winning is awesome but the great energy, incredible team organization and smiling faces (even in the rain!) is what it’s all about.

The final race of the day (Mx4x & Mx4+ combined) where we had three entries, was canceled due to thunder and lightning. Disappointing, but safety comes first.

We’re already looking ahead to a redo on our home lake… and yes, there will definitely be beer and wings on the line!

The ARC Annual Meeting is in the books! It was so good to see everyone after the long winter. We recapped last year’s highlights, welcomed a new board, and head into 2026 with lots to look forward to.

Now bring on spring and let’s get back on the water. 🚣‍♀️

A force on the water and on the erg! Congratulations to Marit Chrislock for tying the America record for ltwt 40-49 yr old women! Marit put in over 1 million meters on the erg in December and January which paved the way for her incredible performance today. Side note: this was her first EVER 1k test!!

Congratulations to all our Asheville Rowing Club members who took on the Concept2 Holiday Challenge. Way to burn off those holiday calories and show up with grit and consistency!

Special recognition goes to Marit Chrislock for an astounding 450,808 meters. There’s no coincidence that the work she puts in on the erg translates directly to results on the water. Marit was one of ARC’s most decorated rowers of 2025, earning multiple gold medals at Nationals, the H***h, and more. The pathway to the podium starts on the erg!
