Picked up this handsome boy today! Meet Pete, the newest German Shorthaired Pointer to join the crew. 🐾 There’s nothing quite like bringing home a new dog and thinking about all the adventures, training, and memories ahead.

Expensive to buy? Yep.
Expensive to own? Definitely.
Worth every penny? Absolutely. 😂

Yesterday afternoon turned into an absolute pigeon beatdown! 🔥

We kicked things off with the C&C Decoy Systems rotary spinning right in the middle of the feedlot, and it didn’t take long before pigeons were coming from every direction. Fast shooting, birds working the spread, and nonstop action.

Two hours later… 97 pigeons on the ground! 💥

Afternoon shoots don’t get much better than this.

We finally got some serious rain… maybe a little TOO serious. 😂🌧️

A section of our corn pivot ended up completely flooded, but it didn’t take long for the teal to find it! Now they’re piling into the flooded corn and absolutely loving their new little wetland.

Sometimes Mother Nature makes the best habitat all on her own. 🦆🌽💦

Sometimes it’s the simple things that are the best. Abbey, the two Cockers, and me piled into the old ’86 for a ride to breakfast. Good dogs, a good wife, and a good old truck… don’t need much more than that.

Part 2 of 3 turning the old Texas bunkhouse into our new hangout lodge! 🤠

Now we’re into the messy stuff—drywall mud, covering joints and seams, and spreading texture across the walls and ceiling. It may not look like much yet, but this is where the old bunkhouse really starts changing.

Tomorrow is the final video… and the finished lodge turned out WAY better than I expected!

The old Texas Ranch bunkhouse is getting a MAJOR makeover! 🤠

Part 1 starts with tearing out walls, ripping out the old stuff and getting this place ready for a whole new look. Texture, fresh paint and a lot more are coming.

This is just the beginning… wait until you see what this old bunkhouse turns into! 👀

Making the hog pond bigger at the Texas ranch! This little skid steer might be undersized for the job, but it’s what I’ve got—and the little thing is MIGHTY. 💪

With the brutal heat and drought we’ve been dealing with, every bit of water matters. The goal is simple: dig this pond bigger, catch and hold more water when we finally get some rain, and give the wildlife a better water source through these dry stretches.

It’s a lot of dirt for a little machine…but we’re getting it done one bucket at a time!

Took Abbey to Casa Bonita for our anniversary and somehow I still managed to find the pigeons. 😂 Beautiful place, great anniversary date… but the second I spotted birds sitting on the roof, my brain immediately went to one thing: Think they’d give us permission? 🤣

Apparently you can take the pigeon hunter out for an anniversary… but you can’t take the pigeon hunting out of him.
