Hey folks, thought I would give you an update on the ol Duckmaster. You might have noticed that my activity on the site pretty much quit after the 2017 season That's because on the morning of January 1, 2017 my Assistant Guide Bill Johnson brought me from a peanut field to Elk City OK emergency room. I had been having some breathing issues which were definitely heart related but an angiogram on Dec 14 from my cardiologist proved no blockage and I was cleared to hunt. Bad doctor! As soon as I reached the emergency room operating table I had a Sudden Cardiac Arrest, which means my heart stopped beating and I died. If this happens to you, be in this place. One nurse gave me CPR while they cut my shirt off and paddled me back on the second try. I now have a Pacemaker and Defibrillator and have not had issues since. Thank the good Lord! I decided that if this guide service was going to kill me, it's time to quit. So Bill Johnson now has my old business at Quack and Strut Guide service where he guides Waterfowl (water only) and turkey in the spring. I'll be hunting with my Son in Law and former assistant guide Mitch, just for fun, and in the warmer months growing a whole bunch of tomatoes.

A flock of 600,000 ducks appeared on National Weather Service radar near McGregor, Minn. Wednesday.

Reports are coming in from across the state that the ducks are hitting Oklahoma. Some of the reports are big numbers, some just starting. Cold fronts are the key! I would much rather have small fronts than those arctic blasts. Those can send them right into Texas!😠

First time it's really going to get cold up north. Snow and low temps forecast from Canada on down to Kansas. I expect to see the first good migration along with it.
