Tues., 12/2/25, To rain or not to rain...

Hey everybody, a quick post before a "push" workout. Hope your day is going well to this point, and that you're able to find some time in it for a little exercise.

Great class this morning. Over 850 reps in about 35 minutes, targeting the thighs, glutes and calves. Burning calories, making muscles. Total Body tomorrow morning at 5:30, set your alarm, grab a towel and a bottle of water, see you then.

Training tip: Try more unilateral work during your lower body sessions. Example: lower the weight and do some seated extensions, standing or lying leg curls, Bulgarian split squats, even seated or standing calf raises, one leg at a time. This can also be done with assorted leg press machines. Doing this will expose a weak or less coordinated leg, and allow us to concentrate on that side.

Fri., 11/7/25, What a great (exercise) week...

Hey everyone, hope your day is going well and that your week has been a good one.

Great AM exercise classes. The turnout was solid, and the ladies crushed it all five days. Our schedule is Upper Body/Core on Monday and Thursday, Lower Body/Glutes on Tuesday and Friday, and our newly created Total Body session each Wednesday, which has proved to be very popular. These classes feature light, high rep resistance training, as well as many calisthenic type movements. A great way to burn calories and build strength simultaneously. Monday thru Friday, 5:30am, please come in and join us.

Welcome to Jackson, Colin, Kenny, Melissa, Julian, Christian, Chris, Miguel, Luis, Fernando, Lilian, Isaiah, Jacobo, Danilo, and anyone else whose joined us for the first time recently. And welcome back to Octavio and Gerardo. Appreciate you all very much.

Try and work some bodyweight squats into your routine a couple times a week. Use a mirror and go up and down until your form is spot on. Also, don't forget to train your grip (forearms). Weightlifting, your lat (back) work in particular, hinges on your ability to hold on to heavy poundages. Grip work will also improve circulation to the hands. Need some ideas? Come see us.

Starting to cool down as we head into mid November, so don't fall into the trap of tailing off on your water intake. Be diligent and stay properly hydrated.

Cinnamon, blueberries and green tea. All very high in antioxidants. Let's see if we can slip them into our weekly nutrition plan.

Happy Thursday to all, hope yours is going well so far. All good here, letting the preworkout kick in, then some squats.

Thanks to the ladies in the AM exercise class for all the effort today. Very productive session. Remember, please, to focus on technique and range of motion on the grip/forearm exercises. Hand strength, flexibility and dexterity are oh so important, especially for older members such as myself. We need these movements to ward off hand issues such as arthritis. Lower body/glutes tomorrow morning, bright and early, hope to see you there.

Here we go again. Hope you had a great weekend, time to go back to work.

Excellent AM exercise today, 11 ladies knocking out around 900 reps of core and upper body. We'll be working lower body/glutes tomorrow morning at 5:30, please feel free to join us for some terrific group exercise.
