Drea discovered Pilates in 2003 while gaining her Minor in Dance from the University of Washington in Seattle. She has been fully certified in the Classical Pilates Method (Romana’s Pilates) since 2005. Trained by Master Teacher Dorothee Van de Walle, at Metropolitan Pilates in Seattle, Drea teaches the classical method as a base level, while folding in flexibility and creativity to Joseph’s timel
ess exercises. Drea’s love for ballet was the catalyst to study Ballet Barre technique, recently adding it to her repertoire. Drea’s years of teaching have given her the experience of working with all types of bodies — from athletes to pre and post-natal clients, to those who are seeking Pilates as a form of rehabilitation for injuries. Her dance background provides the eye for clients achieving proper form and correct alignment; both being important to gaining the most out of Pilates. After a sabbatical to raise her two young daughters, Drea began dancing again in her early forties again, and currently practices contemporary dance and ballet locally. She owned and operated Pilates Two-Six in the Pleasure Point neighborhood from 2015 to March 2020, when the pandemic forced the studio to shut down. The temporary closure turned out to be an opportunity for Drea to naturally transition to Aptos in the Rio Del Mar neighborhood in summer 2021, to create a new, renovated studio space.
