What a summer.
On April 25th, we loaded our stuff onto a plane and headed to Greer, South Carolina.
On September 6th, in Hartland, Wisconsin, I stood in an empty rink for a minute.
The lights were off. The Goalies, Inc. bags were sitting on the sidewalk waiting to be packed up. For the first time in months, there was no rush to get anywhere. It’s a surreal feeling when there is no plane to catch and no reason to be anywhere else but just in a quiet moment to reflect on an unbelievable summer camp season. I took a deep breath, looked around the dark rink for a minute and packed up.
The time in between took us on quite a journey.
From Alaska to New England.
From Seattle to Arizona.
Rinks, airports, rental cars, hotels, early mornings , and long days.
Over the last four months, we welcomed more than 1,000 goalies and over 100 mentor coaches into our program.
We shared so many incredible memories, but my favorite moment is almost always the same.
It’s when camp is nearly over.
I get a chance to share my gratitude with the group, but more importantly, you can see the sense of accomplishment in each goalie.
They know they are leaving the ice a better-equipped athlete and, hopefully, a stronger individual than when they arrived.
Our camps aren’t easy.
We challenge every student to dig a little deeper, find the discipline it takes to be successful, and realize they are capable of far more than they may have believed when they walked through the doors.
At the end, they get to take pride in knowing one simple thing:
They are better today than when they joined us.
And we had a hell of a lot of fun doing it.
That’s my favorite part.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been running Goalies, Inc. for 18 summers.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized one thing more and more: It was never about me.
It never has been, and it never will be.
Goalies, Inc. is built for all of you.
Every family that dedicates its time to helping a goalie chase something they love.
Every goalie who digs deeper and pushes themselves harder than they thought possible.
Every former student who comes back and joins us as a coach.
Every coach from another program who collaborates with us on the ice.
Every mentor coach who joins us simply because they want to become a better resource for the goalies in their own organization.
Goalies, Inc. has never been about me.
It’s never been about you.
It’s always been about us.
“The more positive vibes you put out into the world, the more they come back to you. Surround yourself with like-minded people and, somehow, someway, I’ll guarantee you and your friends will find success in whatever you want to do.”
I could go on and on about the stories from this summer, and I’ll share some of my favorite photos below.
But I’d love for all of you to be part of this post too.
Share your photos. Share your memories. Share your experience with Goalies, Inc. this summer in the comments below.
I have the opportunity to run Goalies, Inc. because of you and your families.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
What a ride 2026 was.
I look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
Cheers!
