There are good race teams, great race teams and then there are legendary race teams. The Mike Butz Racing team owners pictured here (Mike and Patty) are definitely legendary race car team owners. Fielding Fox River Racing Club track championships at Wisconsin International Raceway with drivers like Matt Kenseth, Terry Baldry and most recently their son Chad Butz. Their other son Matt Butz is also part of this legendary race team who still competes weekly at W.I.R. Fox Valley race fans have truly appreciated their involvement in Thursday Night Racing. THANK YOU !!!

There are big races and then there are Juggernaut Races. I'd say Oktoberfest is the Juggernaut of fall weekend specials and as far as single day events the two that always LEAP to mind are the Slinger Super Speedway Nationals and the Wisconsin International Raceway Gandrud(Dixieland) Race on Tuesday, August 4th. You do not want to miss this event......Can #4 Luke Fenhaus repeat last years outstanding performance ?

Occasionally I get the opportunity to man the Spotters stand at Wisconsin International Raceway on Thursday Nights. While fans see the drivers on the track and in the pits, they dont always realize how important the voice in the driver's ear is. I want to give credit where it is due. This man pictured Todd Schmidt spotted for a Pro LM #56 a QMLM #56 and a SLM #3 all in the same night on Thursday, 7/30/26. That folks is pure dedication. Great job Todd đź‘Ź

DISCLAIMER: This site is meant for flashbacks to the glory days of racing as well as the positive support of local racing. Any negativity towards/specific to ANY local race track or how they choose to operate their racing program will not be tolerated. IMO local racing is a luxury and we should do everything in our power to support this, not desecrate it.

So...this youngster named Rick Redig-Tackman shows up and goes from mid pack up towards the front...has to go to the back and then goes back to the front AGAIN in a car built in about 30 days. It turned out to be one of the craziest endings, where he still ended up 3rd. It was quite the feat. I am looking forward to watching the #13 car again very soon at Slinger Super Speedway He definitely got my attention. Would have loved to see him and #14 Riddle in the same race. They both have a great deal of talent.

The MAN, the MYTHE, the LEGEND "Super" Dave Valentyne !!!! My mentor since the year 2000 at Wisconsin International Raceway. I would have never gotten as involved as I did if it weren't for his influence. If you see him at the track, thank him for all the past and ongoing service he has given to help make local stock car racing a success.

- Bob Abitz in some spectacular looking rides. Bob was also a long time tech inspector at Wisconsin International Raceway and several other touring series across the Unites States after he hung up his helmet. This man is the true meaning of a LEGEND !!!!! And from looking at the shape of the top car, he may or may not have also been BATMAN at some point.
