Water is the most important nutrient. As we are now in our warmer months, it is crucial for life, health, and optimal athletic performance. As the most abundant molecule in the body, water is critical for many physiological functions throughout the body.

Water is essential for:
• Regulation of body temperature,
• Absorption and transportation of nutrients,
• Digestion and elimination of waste products,
• Maintenance of blood volume
• Water serves as the medium for all biochemical reactions and metabolic processes throughout the body.

Your goal should be to drink half your body weight in ounces (example: weigh 150 lbs, drink 75 oz.) Do you know how much water you drink each day? Now might be the time to check.

Good morning! 🌞

I’ve had a similar conversation with a few clients recently regarding muscles. Specifically, noting that tight muscles are typically weak, and weak muscles are typically tight.

This may seem obvious, but it holds true for many people and for their glutes, hamstrings, hip flexors and rotator cuff muscles. It’s one of the reasons we do mobility/flexibility with these muscles as well as train them for strength. Most bigger muscles get the attention, but without smaller and supportive muscles, and without mobile and flexible muscles and joints, these bigger muscles won’t function properly.

Functional training is critical to our body’s ability to move with ease and without pain. I highly recommend checking out my You Tube page to see various videos including mobility, flexibility and foam rolling, all of which will allow you to move more easily.

I have taken an absence from posting for a couple weeks as we unexpectedly and tragically said goodbye to our youngest daughter, Samantha (Sammie). Our family has appreciated the love and support as we try to process our loss and navigate a new normal.

As we do that, I thought this sentiment was appropriate. The biggest difference between money and time: you always know how much money you have, but you never know how much time you have. Enjoy every moment of your life!
