Girls Soccer Varsity district semifinal:
Waynedale 1, Cardinal Mooney 6.

The first 15 minutes were scoreless. It was cold, windy, and a slick turf. Cardinal Mooney got three goals on the board before halftime from a corner kick, a shot, and an own goal. Senior Madelynn Baney scored off a free kick in the second half to keep it within reach. Mooney scored a few in the last 5 minutes of the game while Waynedale pushed up. AJ Hochstetler finished with 12 saves.

Waynedale Sports Fans,

Congratulations to Anna Pittman for being the Waynedale Athlete Of The Week for October 13th - 18th. Anna is a 3-sport fall athlete as she competes for the girl's soccer team, the girl's cross country team, and as the kicker for the football team. Here are some of her accomplishments as mentioned from her coaches.

Team Successes:

*** The girls soccer team went 2-0 last week beating Rittman and then Lake Center Christian in the Sectional Finals.

*** The girls cross country team advanced to the regionals with a 4th place finish at the district meet.

*** The football team won their 2nd straight game and has scored 67 points in those two wins.

Anna Pittman's Successes:

*** Scored 4 goals for the girl's soccer team (both game winning goals) and leads the team with 12 goals for the season.

*** Finished in the top 8 runners at the district meet in Lorain.

*** Was 6/7 on extra points and 1/1 on field goals for the football team in their win over Northwestern.
