Although we had to cancel the May 31st event, we invited our senior athletes to submit essays on the topic: “What are you thankful for?” From those heartfelt reflections, two incredible student athletes were selected to receive scholarships under the LU LU Scholarship Fund: Nevaeha and Lilly.
Nevaeha wrote, “I’m thankful for my mom and dad. They are my biggest supporters, always encouraging me to chase my dreams no matter how far or hard the journey may be. From driving me to early practices to cheering from the sidelines at every game, they have made countless sacrifices to help me succeed. Their love and dedication give me strength every single day.”
Lilly shared, “I’m thankful for my parents, who balanced so much to make sure I could pursue both my homeschool education and my passion for softball. They made sacrifices that I didn’t fully understand at the time, but that I carry with me now in everything I do. They showed me that success isn’t defined by a big house, but by the heart you put into your journey.”
Today, we honor Lu legacy by continuing what she started investing in young athletes and celebrating their hearts as much as their talents.
We are thankful for the angel we had with us on Earth, and the angel we now have watching over us.
