To our friends and family who are concerned,

Thank you all for your texts and messages. Many of you have asked for an update, so here it is. Last week, our house, like many in our area, was flooded and destroyed inside.
We lost power for four days and had to move most of our belongings that we could save out as we transitioned into temporary accommodation. Since then, we’ve been focused on clean-up and demolition, while also trying to help others who aren’t able to manage on their own. The impact of Hurricane Helene has been incredibly difficult for everyone here.

We’ve now moved out of our temporary place and are staying with our son Oggie, his wife Gabby, and our new granddaughter Margot in Waterset. Tomas is up in Brandon, and everyone is doing well at the moment. With Hurricane Milton on the horizon, we’re doing our best to prepare.

The debris from last week’s storm surge, along with all the contents of our home, is sitting in our driveway, but thankfully we have power right now in Oggie’s and Gabby’s house and are as ready as we can be for whatever comes next.
Our positive vibes and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by last week’s storm and those bracing for the one ahead. Thank you again for your support and concern, both from Ireland and across the country. We’ll get through this and face what’s to come together.

Best of luck and positive thoughts for all.
