"“What the [expletive] just happened?” one head-shaking GOP House member said as he left the Statehouse grounds Tuesday morning, leaving a teeming mass of some 500 anti-vax protesters behind." Well. you let something like that out of the bag, this frothing, angry, unreasonable, unlawful MOB - a mob that has been praised for exactly this despicable, sometimes deadly public behavior - and eventually they get around to you. That's what just happened. ~dk

What was billed as a Republican press conference attacking President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate rapidly devolved into a raucous political protest as angry Granite Staters overwhelmed the GOP event, eventually taking over the stage. “What the [expletive] just happened?” one head-shaking GOP Ho...

Well we did it! A small contest meant a ton of skate time for everyone, we're all pretty well spent! Congrats to Rookie, Rick Floyd, and Glenn Chapman for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place standings. Great to see Josh and Lindsey on the hill again, great to see everyone. The town missed us and were glad to see us back, we had great weather, and no serious calamities other than some errant traffic (including a couple horses slaloming up the hill) and Glenn's minor crash. We should do it again sometime!

Looking at the list, this might be a tidy little race this year (there are a few more who have contacted me). Home and Harvest is a little lighter too, fireworks and BBQ Friday night, nothing Sunday but us. Oh wellz. The "plan" is to try to get the main racing done on Saturday, extra race and / or rain date Sunday. We'll make every effort to accommodate beginners, intermediates, or off-the-couch skaters so don't be shy if you haven't rolled in a while. 03440 weather is not especially reassuring right now, typical. Let me know how I can help or answer questions. -dk

Racers: It's that time! Please either sign up on NCDSA.com or contact me if you want camping accommodations for this race. Cost will be covered if you are on the list by Tuesday. You are more than welcome to show up un-announced for the race, make your own accommodations or try your luck if you surprise me. -dk

So I found THIS in the Cheshire TV Archives! I don't think I could upload long programs back then, so I got all the raw footage and thought I'd whip up some parts and pieces in my "spare time". Yeah... Anyway, here's the whole (almost) glorious race from what may have been the heyday of Antrim racing. CTV did a bang-up production job on this, wish I had gotten it out sooner!

The 2011 Antrim Can / Am slalom skateboard race was filmed by Cheshire TV, here's the good stuff from the main race day. World Record for 100 cone tight was ...

Skaters, friends, it would be very helpful to get your O-fficcial info if you are coming to race in Antrim - signup form is once again at NCDSA.com. I've been trying to sort out which sites are active, where FB is in all of this, I'm not really a Twitter guy... makes my head spin, so I'll do it like we did before. We've been approved for a Prime status by the ISSA, so should be another fun one that's worth the trip. I have a few more more goodies coming for you all via FB today... -dk

Lodging. OK, here's the sitch. Our favorite overnight accomodations are not available this time around. After striking out on fancy and local, casual options, I've booked a large campsite at Greenfield State Park. Minimum of six adults, up to 40 people so they say. It has 2 Adirondack shelters and plenty of tent space, fire ring / pit, and is rather secluded from the rest of the camping area. Basic campsite, no power or hookup. This was the simplest way for me to be sure anyone who wants to come has a place to sleep and a shower at their convenience. I'll also suggest that Saturday night is The Gathering and COOKOUT at said campsite. There's a fee for extra people beyond a certain point, which I will cover, so bring your crew, the camping is at no extra charge to racers and families. -dk

Hey, heads up. I'm going to do it!! Home and Harvest skateboard race, I do believe I'll call it Can / Am X, because it is. Race dates will be Saturday Sep 17 and Sunday the 18th. Most serious racing will be Sat, we'll try to get in 3 races (plus the parade?). Sunday can be bonus races, possibly including SG for all ability longboarders? Clinic? Kids race? Working on that. More importantly Sunday will be the rain date. HH Fireworks happen Friday night for those looking to land early and have some fun and grab a bite. I'l try to have a bash of some sort Sat PM. Local accommodations aplenty but not organized yet. More info to follow, - Dave K.
